Haven’t watched the second one yet but what’s the deal with Uhura and Mbenga’s new haircuts? They look really odd.

Conversely, Number One is now a glamour puss.

Nvm, episode two and Uhura has a ton of hair. Guess Ep1 they were trying to hide it.

They didn't really fuck up the timelines.

It's always been theorized that Trelane from TOS was a Q. This episode kind of confirming that just makes official a fan theory that has existed for decades. Additionally, they heavily imply it is Q's son from Voyager. Q aren't linear - them popping up in different eras isn't breaking any lore with them and they never reveal they are Q. Plus "Q Jr" doesn't refer to himself as Trelane, so it doesn't step on the toes of the TOS episode directly either

Kind of lame they brought in the
holodeck and of course a murder mystery where the glitch in the system means everyone could die
I did get a good laugh out of them poking fun at the OG star trek and Shatner's Ham 'acting' skills.

this season has been fun to watch but literally zero forward momentum on story or plot. with only 10 episodes they move the plot slower than tng with 24 episodes

I think they must have hired some out-of-work Soap Opera writers for this season. The (almost) everyone must have a relationship and making the half Vulcan, of all characters, jumping from relationship to relationship is a bit ridiculous.
