binged through season 3, not quite as good as season 1 but it was watchable. Didn't love the major plot arcs around the gorn, Spock/Chapel love triangle, and the weird "ancient evil" but it did tie up together by the end I guess. More enjoyed the standalone stuff that really wasn't tied to anything else.
Most episodes it started off kinda "ehh... I dunno about this" but I tended to enjoy it by the end. I think the major difference between this and retard slop like Discovery is this show still tries really hard each episode to make sure a sense of fun and adventure is always present. It fails badly sometimes (Spock, Gorn stuff) but I give it points for at least trying. I did mostly enjoy episodes like the Gorn-friend or season finale but they felt like slightly lesser TNG episodes like the one where Geordie is stuck on a planet with a Romulan or Picards Inner Light episode.
It sucks its taking 3 years between seasons, it kills all momentum and thats gonna be the biggest takeaway of the last 10 years of shows/streaming, they took too fucking long between seasons killing the sense of community around a show.
Next year is the 60th anniversary of Star Trek and its been pretty much confirmed SNW season 4 will drop in the summer/fall so got that at least. I'll be skipping Starfleet Academy, lol
