I would point out that 'Focus on other time periods' does not equal 'Retconning the sequels out of existence'.
You could have Star Wars focus on more post-Original territory (like Mando), midquel territory (like Solo, Obi-Wan, or Andor), pre-prequel territory (like KOTOR, the High Republic, or Acolyte), or post-sequel territory (the planned? still planned? Rey sequels) with a new* batch of characters without reusing the sequel characters / storylines.
*Obviously, the emphasis is on new characters - no one wants more Acolyte.
The Universe is a big fucking place. They could have entire sectors where the Jedi are literally Walker, Texas Ranger. Or Batman with psychic powers. heh

Years ago when I worked at Best Buy. No one bought SW shit there either. Not even the LEGO sets. The AM of the store, however, did pay like $400 for some dumbass lightsaber from DisneyWorld or Disneyland. I don't know which one has the Star Wars shit. I haven't been to Disneyland since King Kong was the main attraction. No wait...that was Universal Studios. It was....1989? 90? I can't rememberI've never seen new SW figures anywhere but discount dollar stores in huge bulk. Lol.
I’m wondering if people would be ok with them recasting the original characters and telling new stories in that era or doing something like Heir to the Empire for example. There’s a lot of good Legends stuff they could borrow from If they want to stay in the Skywalker era.

In order to get the re-investment of the core, they need to address the situation and not simply avoid or dance around it... a retcon or // universe split is really the two main roads to take.
Their entire main “new” trilogy - the Ray line… WAS a flop- be them saying it or not, it was and was so completely its hamstrung the entire SW org.
Yes because it costs zero to make those movies and tv shows. All profitYep, and Disney got Marvel for free. Try again.
You think making 4.4 billion on the sequel trilogy is flopping-- weird take.

Mhmm, and how much money did the M-SheU make compared to the sequel trilogy?
Budgets are the same between Marvel and Star Wars except for Episode 9.
Keep it coming.
