He blocked Qui-gon's saber with his right one, then chin-uppercutted with the hilt after. Kenobi witnessed the move so years later slices directly through the hilt.

Ep1 lightsaber choreography was not great but you get the gist of what they were going for in real time rather than slo-mo.

Obi-Wan set Maul up to try the same move again by changing his opening stance from his favored fighting style to Qui-Gon's favored style. Maul saw it and thought he could pull the same move twice. Hence Maul shifting his feet before the fight started. That fight was over before it began, and why its my favorite lightsaber fight ever. Although Luke Vader in Empire is an all timer.

Edit : should have replied to Siliconemelons Siliconemelons who doesn't seem to get it. You're ok in my book Malakriss.

I am glad there is all that stuff going on for the super fans... just like "they are fighting based upon the Jedi's slight perception of the future, that's why ObiWan and Anikan just spun their sabers around at each other in episode 3"

Sure thing

This show is absolutely incredible so far.
Agree. Filoni's animated stuff goes from strength to strength. Clone wars, rebels, bad batch, tales of the Jedi/sith/underworld are all excellent and this one might be the best so far.

The planet is Janix. I believe it’s supposed to be outer rim territory, which is why the empire has no presence there.
Did you know that before the latest episode drop? Seems like they said it 5 times in these 2 episodes, but I don't remember hearing it at all before.

Super fans? You don't have to be a super fan to recognize him trying to kill Obi-Wan with the exact same move he killed his master with. Comparing that with the post-hoc justification for that bit of inexplicably garbage choreography in Ep 3 just makes you sound even more retarded.

that train sequence was insane, the animation on Maul's face is wild. Its only 1 year I think after revenge of the sith so the inquisitors can't be that big or well trained, wonder what their story is. I believe the inquisitor we see is Marrok who is also in the live action Ahsoka series, but looking at the youtube clip he "zombie ashes" on death there so he is probably an undead witch reanimated corpse? So maybe he dies in this show?

its gotta be Vader that Marrok is bowing to, i think Vader runs the inquisitors directly not the emperor, at least thats what I remember from Obi Wan and Jedi Fallen Order

The dark saber ends up on Dathomir at some point before Rebels when Sabine finds it. My guess would be end of this season or sometime in an upcoming season Maul sets up his base on Dathomir where Marrok tracks him down. Maul kills Marrok, some witchcraft happens to reanimate Marrok at that point.
