Ok so from what I'm gathering all the good stuff comes way later. First 2 seasons are just a lot of random running around and doing stuff.

More less. Important Clone wars arcs that seem to be coming up in other canon are anything Mandalorian, anything Maul, Ashoka's arc at the end of season 5, and Saw's arc. There are plenty other arcs that are good, but those are the ones that keep coming up in Rebels and if you believe E+S=R for VII and forward.

Finally caught up on this, like it a lot. There any reason for me to finish watching Clone Wars? I finished seasons 1 and 2 and there's just too damn many episodes so I jumped in to Rebels instead of finishing.

Also, god damn did they nail everything about Thrawn. He's exactly as I imagined him via the books that I read forever ago.
Watch every single second of Clone Wars IMO. That show got leaps & bounds better every season. I may be in the minority with this, but I found Clone Wars to be a MUCH better show than Rebels. I prefer the cast of Clone Wars over Rebels, the best episodes of Rebels is when Maul & Ahsoka are present. I prefer Obi over Kanan & I prefer Ahsoka to Ezra, though I have to admit Ezra has grown on me. With all that said this is Star Wars & I will consume it like the Star Wars Whore that I am, but do you self a favor & watch all of Clone Wars.

Wouldn't say that. There's awesome episodes all the way through. Season 1 episode 5 "Rookies" is one of the best episodes of the whole show IMO. The arc with Dooku & Hondo in season 1.. In fact any episode with Hondo is pretty great. The mandalorian arc in season 2.. Season 3 has some great clone development with ARC troopers etc. Darkness on Umbara arc in season 4..

Honestly clone wars was great from start to finish.

Yeah I think the show is worth watching all the way through, but it does have some pretty weak individual episodes/arcs as mentioned. Overall it's quite good.

I forgot about the big nightsisters/savage opress storylines that went on in season 3 or 4 too. That was really good stuff. I agree with all the above veterans of watching the show in consuming as much as you can, but the bad storylines, and there are a couple, to me are so obviously bad right from the first few minutes of the first episode that your decisions become easy.

I'll echo what everyone else has said about watching TCW in it's entirety. I hadn't watched any of it prior to Rebels but I tackled it after S2 was over mainly because I liked Ahsoka in the later series so much and I was curious about the particulars of how Maul was brought back from "the dead". And it was a good way to fill out the wait for S3 of Rebels to start so you can always wait until the current season is done if you think you might want to do the same thing with that series between seasons 3 and 4 of Rebels.

Like Rebels it's hit or miss as a series, going through it's own high points and lows on quality. One thing I personally thought it did well was making many of the clones distinctive and unique as individuals in spite of how alike they were physically, which really helped drive home how barbaric the notion of manufacturing them for the purpose of being canon fodder really was. The Separatists were more humane when you look at the Clone Wars themselves in that light, which is one of the current evolving themes in the broader canon; the shades of grey that existed on both sides of those older conflicts.

Speaking of Clone Wars, looks like it's leaving Netflix on March 7th.

Was hoping that the content of 3-20 would be the season finale, but it may just bleed over to the end.

Glad to see another Chopper and AP-5 episode coming. I've been rewatching the series with the wife and those episode stand out and make me smile.

I doubt that it does. I think the finale will focus on Thrawn being the Thrawn so many were hoping for going into the season since you could argue that he's been relatively underutilized so far.

Sabine's mom is ...

... Ursa Wren.

No big reveal there after all.

A helluva episode to come back from a hiatus to. It had a real Game of Thrones feel going on. I've never been a big Mando fan but if they were to do a series that focused on them and the interplay of the various houses I'd be totally down with it.

I had a feeling going into this that Sabine would leave the rebellion and stay to help her family. I'm sure we'll see her again, probably even this season if the Rebellion attacks Lothal and the Mandalorians come along to help.

Absolutely excellent episode. I'm pretty gutted that my favorite is potentially written out of the series now, because it looks like this series is ending at the end of this season. I'm so stoked with how great the writing is in the majority of what's coming out in the SW universe now.

I know that's becoming a more popular sentiment since Disney hasn't renewed it beyond this season on XD yet but you have to remember these shows are developed almost a full year in advance of them airing. Season 4 has been in development for quite some time now so I think, one way or the other, we'll get at least one more season. Perhaps not on DisneyXD and perhaps not a full 20+ episodes.
