There is also a 3rd one. 2nd and 3rd were direct-to-video. Both suck compared to the 1st one, but the 3rd is semi decent because they tried harder to fit the style of the 1st one.

I love the first movie though it is different from the book. I also think the cgi in it has survived the test of time far better than Denise Richards has

Star Trooper is one of those sci-fi classic (Dune) that got fucked by movies.....

I hope...they don't fuck up this time...

never read the book, only saw the movie, was classic verheoven (robocop, total recall). translation, it was awesome. a reboot would be ok i guess. though i have no intention of ever watching it. but its ok if you want to see how close they get it to the book, though they always tend to mirror the movie they are remaking because its a safer lazier bet.

They need a reboot of it, with hopefully real bodies or corpses that look real. The first movie was essentially satire which is not what the book is about.

I think the first movie was great. Maybe not the perfect adaptation of the source material but held on its own it's a great film.

I love Verhoevens style.
