To be fair on this point, think basically everyone knew she was going to somehow show up for the final confrontation somehow. Although her getting "rescued" so early in the season and having her trail around like a Prophet of Doom was some kind of choice...but it does lend itself to the only real plot/character point that makes sense. Eleven dealing with the idea that portions of the military forever coming after her to continue experiments to turn kids into weapons with some version of her superpowers.

Of course, given how easily the former drunk police chief and Nancy "I'm Suddenly the Female Rambo" Wheeler mow through military red shirts, don't know why they even worry about it.

Last Preview. Like all other previews, they neglect to show the "Days of our Lives" moments and only show the scenes we actually wanted to watch.

Actually thought the finale was pretty good. Biggest complaint still lack of meaningful deaths. After how the ending of last season felt, the for the most part complete lack of real danger any of the characters ended up in/plot armor was pretty overwhelming. Obviously final fight and shit pretty rushed, but overall not bad. Frankly had they killed off a few more people I think they could have had more screen time for important stuff. Mind Flayer final form shows up for all of 5-10 min.

The good is basically just hitting a lot of the emotional notes in the epilogue. Mike's speech at the end landed well. Of course they had to throw out a "theory" that Eleven might have escaped/lived. Since we're already getting a Nancy spinoff, wouldn't be shocked if they left it open for future stories.

They continued the long talks at nonsensical times meme. Took too long to wind up at the end LOTR style but a few nice moments in there. Overall, a lot of dumb and bad but it was fun.

The finale episode was only moderately better than the rest of a very bad season - mostly because at least now it's finally over.
