Guardians Of The Galaxy Seriously GIF by Leroy Patterson

I hold this to the same bar I held the MK movie to. Does it realize what it is? Does it attempt to be the epitome of what it is? This should not be a high bar looking at the cast and trailers. What do I want to see? People fighting, Chun-li whipping ass, and innocent background cars getting demolished.

Going to see this Friday night. Haven't actually gone to a movie in a long ass time, pretty stoked for it though. Never actually gone to an IMAX screen either so hopefully they're as good as i've heard, too.

Faggots have hijacked the other side of gamergate/woke sjw shit to also try and make money and become relevant, change my mind.

That said, if it's shitty tomorrow night, i'll let you guys know. If i'm anything, it's not ashamed to say something that everyone calls me a retard for saying, and i'm sure lots of people here will vouch for this.

Saw it tonight with the family plus another friend.

It's fun like the trailers showed, there's more story in it than I expected based on the mostly comedic trailers. The backstory for some characters is done in animé style and it's honestly pretty well done with a few cool fights in that art style.

Most of the characters get to show their special moves from the games, there's also a lot of references and quips taken straight from the games (mostly Street Fighter 2), there's a nod to Street Fighter 1 and there's a few characters from later games (Dan, mostly).

Was especially happy to see Dhalsim doing a lot of cool moves as he's a character that was completely butchered and sidelined in the 95 movie, and even in the animated movies he's usually not seen fighting.

It's just dumb fun, there's a lot of fights but most are over pretty quick, which isn't a big surprise when you have people breaking walls or launching energy attacks I imagine.

The violence level is mostly cartoony so I think it's safe for younger kids, but there's a ton of profanity and crude jokes.

There's one mid-credits scene which gives some hints about the potential sequel, and there's no post-credits scene.

Overall, if this was a generic action/fighting movie I'd probably think it's pretty silly and corny, there's moments where it feels like you're watching a live-action saturday morning cartoon, but it's a Street Fighter movie and it was clearly done with a lot of love for that franchise, a lot of attention to detail and it doesn't try to pretend it's something it's not. It's not grimdark or trying to be serious, it's funny, unserious and colorful. That's what I wanted to see, so I can't complain really.
