Why would they follow up Superman with another Super/Kryptonian movie? Baffling choice. Who approves this shit?
Again, the question isn't how do you _launch_ a cinematic universe, it's what the hell do you do when you already have one running, and your corporate overlords demand you keep putting out product without delay?

Just to remind people, Aquaman and The Flash had movies release _AFTER_ Gunn was hired, and Wonder Woman 84 was less than two years before that. And then they already had a separate The Batman universe, that will almost certainly pre- and post-date the entire Gunniverse.

So if you look at the historic Justice League lineup, the only characters that hadn't had a movie in the last three years were Superman and Green Lantern. And Gunn's first DCU live action releases were... Superman-related movies and a Green Lantern TV show. (Plus Superman's dead for most of Justice League - the last solo Superman movie was nearly a decade ago at that point, which is actually _more_ of a gap than Superman Returns and Man of Steel.)

Obviously, the answer is: The Corporation (applies to both Disney with Star Wars, WB with DC Comics, hell, even Disney again post-Endgame) needs to have a gap between universes and a firm five year plan before production gets started, rather than having the A-team working on the first release and the B if not C teams having to simultaneously work on the followups because the corporation in question demands additional releases every 12 months or less.

But yeah, Supergirl already has hit pieces in two different publications less than 8 days after the movie releases? Somebody wants Gunn's fucking head. To be clear, rumors of competing cuts have been floating around for months, which means that the original Gillespie movie wasn't wowing people either.

At the end of the day, I do think there should be a central creative person (a Feige type), but I think that having that person be responsible for the overall creative decisions while also having a day job of steadily directing movies is a bad move.
