The US's involvement in Vietnam was a long chain of events (escalations) starting with Truman and his backing of France's imperialism instead of keeping promises of independence made during WW2, to the Vietnamese. If it wasn't for De Gaulle using the threat of the commies taking over France (without his great and wise leadership), due to losing elections if they had to give up the prestige of holding southeast Asia, Vietnam would have most likely become a democracy after WW2.

Could JFK have stopped the slide into what would eventually cost thousands of American lives in Southeast Asia and thousands more ruined by the trauma of those that came home? Sure, but for the 50s, 60s, and 70s the US political establishment was subsumed by the Domino Theory of how Communism was going to take over the world. On the US side, the single biggest villain in the Vietnam War was probable McNamara.

The first American serviceman killed in the Vietnam conflict was in 1954.

Huh, you're right. I encountered (and dated) this body type a lot when I taught martial arts for a few years, small boobs and fantastic everything else is pretty normal with young women who grew up doing martial arts.

I assume these efforts to draw a false equivalence are so that people are okay with it when men participate in women's activities like Olympic Boxing, because "women can beat men just fine!" or whatever.

Nevermind that it completely goes against every logical thing we already know. Like man-on-woman domestic violence is held as a big deal in our society when it shouldn't be if women are as strong as men. It should be looked at the same way we look at two men having a fight. However, doing that is deeply illogical and you have to be pretty far into the cult for that.

Which isn't even getting started on the logical fracture resulting from "murder a pregnant woman and you're charged with two murders" coupled with "abortion isn't murder"

For clarity, my issues with this movie aren't about the "woman is super stronk" thing above, that was just a tangent. Kara-El is super stronk, yes. My only issue with it is glamorizing being a drunken mess. Maybe it'll be a good movie where the "drunken mess" aspect is treated as a problem to be overcome rather than "cool", IDK. Just lame to see it glamorized when we as a society are moving away from drunken debauchery and that sort of stupid behavior now.

It's Gunn. Have you seen Peacemaker? His wife plays the same character. Drunken 90lb bar brawler.

At least with supergirl it will be slightly more believable.

I'm not a gunn fan at all. His brand of comedy is all about poking fun at white middle America. Making soccer moms into drunks is par for his course.

i don't have any issues with supergirl, i just am not gonna pay $50 to see a movie about a character i don't give a single fuck about. i'll watch it at home and my peepee will get hard cuz fetal alcohol syndrome chick is still hot, especially in a supergirl outfit

i also know after wonder woman and captain marvel, women don't give a fuck about girl power comics anymore and its hilarious to see studios try to convince themselves that men and women want the same thing in movies. you put the same chick in a rom com with 2 good looking dudes (RULE 0 OF ROM COMS) and it'll make $300m

this is like the WNBA, they keep trying to make it happen and its hilarious
