I've only skimmed the large post . . .

It says the events of the first film were in 1987???

Pretty sure it was 1984. Only a few years off, but still it is the wrong year.

They should have borrowed from the TV plot instead, and have Conner seduced by hot terminator pussy instead of nanobots.

Reading that possible plot synopsis, I really hope that's not true. It's just so damn dependent on the first two films to the point of being a crutch. Maybe they could pull it off but in movies like the Star Trek reboots, I really got sick of all the allegiances and tie-ins to the original films.

This looks like the most convoluted plot to what should be a simple kickass action movie, good lord.

If they are putting their plot twist in the trailer, it can't be good.
To be fair, when I saw the first trailers for The Town, I thought they gave away the plot twist in the trailer as well. And that movie was relatively well received.

This looks bad though.

This looks like the definition of a CGI porn popcorn movie. They're trying to shut off your brain months in advance.

I liked the older trailers more than the newer trailers.

The newer ones make the movie look far, far dumber. I'm seeing way more Terminator 3 than I want to be seeing.

Remember when the Terminator Salvation movie was built around the question of what Marcus was... except the first fucking trailer revealed it?

Glad to see all the lessons were learned from that. /eyeroll

(Actually, I don't entirely blame them for repeating the mistake. The overwhelming consensus from the first trailer was "They reshot the first two movies. Who gives a fuck?", so they had to dosomethingto get people interested.)

This. This is why I don't watch trailers much anymore. Either the general populace is getting more stupid, or filmmakers/distributors need to realize just what the fuck teases and cliffhangers are for in trailers and how to cut them properly.

Honestly, they're probably afraid the movie would fail without introducing the "tweest", which is retarded. Hint at it, don't do what amounts to a full reveal. *Sigh*

Judging by the trailer I don't think the audience is supposed to believe that John Connor went back in time and they almost certainly aren't supposed to believe it for any length of time, so I don't really think they are revealing a twist.
