Best part of this server. It's the only EQ server that actually feels like classic; even though it's in PoP. That old client just hits different.

I miss EQmac. How many people running around on here?
I think it was like 250ish chars when I was signing in. I was surprised to find a six box (or two three boxers per the server rules) camping specs in Qeynos Catacombs.

I have a three box group in the mid-30s, but I’m spoiled by mouse wheel scroll to third person, just can’t get used to how the old client manages the camera.

It's one of the "leveling highway" spots tbh, high ZEM and fast repops.

Newbie zone -> Kurns/Paludal --> Highkeep --> Qcat --> PoP Zones

I sort of miss playing. I even made a ton of custom ui elements just for boxing on takp.

Made it to time with my trio, and just the slog of going through time, while reflagging people to get into time kinda killed it for me, which I should have known as thats what happened when I played on live lol.

TAKP fun, wish i didnt make CLR/ENCH/BL combo - I mean hella strong, but requires like 15 fuken buffs on 30 min timers and charm pet which can be stressful on an old client in PoP with no MQ2

I don't care about making another server - in fact I hope a "competitor" doesn't start up and pull people away from the main one - but does this mean we can somehow build/review drop tables and such so I can figure out just how rare some of those original lowbie quest drops are?

I mean you could literally just ask before, but sure. You can look up database entries.

Think the only 'competitor' I'd see as worthwhile is a 1box server. Even then it'll be behind compared to the TAKP server.

Yeah, you can pull any data - drops, quests, combat formulas - it's all open source now.

Please feel free to contribute if you like.
It's missing most of the client rendering work I did to get Trilogy to work in a window, however, I may take another stab at it soon.

Lmfao that character name. I for one cannot wait to play on the trilogy client. What do we need to do to make this a reality? What would be broken still once it was functional? I think this is the only case of the inventory mirror working I've ever seen outside of the real old days.

Nothing would really be broken if it's ever finished. I'd say that would have 6 months of work to do.

I've been streaming a permadeath guild on this server the past week, it's a lot of fun but when Secrets drops his new single box server w/ a classic launch and maybe the real trilogy client I'll probably move over there. Trilogy client is going to be $$$.

I've been streaming a permadeath guild on this server the past week, it's a lot of fun but when Secrets drops his new single box server w/ a classic launch and maybe the real trilogy client I'll probably move over there. Trilogy client is going to be $$$.
Also including built in solo, self found, and hardcore rulesets.

These three rulesets may be toggled on independently or all at once at Level 1 at any Priest of Discord.
The process of doing so resets your character and all of its data to as if it had just spawned in the game world, and prevents future ruleset toggling.

Self Found:
This is a gametype that restricts interactions with standard ruleset players. This is more akin to a "Group Self Found / Group Ironman" ruleset if enabled by itself.
The following restrictions are imposed:
* You cannot group or raid with players who are not also playing the Self Found ruleset.
* You cannot be buffed or healed by other players whom are outside of your experience credit range.
* You cannot trade with other players.
* You cannot purchase items from merchants that aren't already on the merchant.
* You cannot loot items that were handed to an NPC by a player off of the NPC's corpse.
* You cannot sell or buy items in The Bazaar.
* You cannot pick up dropped items on the ground that are dropped by other players. Standard ground spawns do not apply to this rule.
* You cannot loot items from 'opened' corpses. You must receive initial experience credit per the ruleset to loot the item(s) you wish to loot.
* You cannot loot items from corpses of mobs you weren't in group or raid experience credit range of.
* You must engage a creature at 100% HP to receive experience or loot for yourself, your group or your raid, and deal at least 50% of the mob's health in damage to receive experience.
NOTE: Normal damage rules additionally apply to the target for experience credit. The NPC regenerating to 100% HP will reset this flag.

Solo Only:

Hardcore:
This is a gametype that will result in permanent deletion of your character upon your first death above the item loss level. This is also known as a "Permadeath" ruleset found in other games.
There are no restrictions like the rulesets above have, but this may be toggled on in addition to the above two rulesets.

NOTE: Characters who have hit a milestone under the hardcore ruleset that die will be broadcast to the entire server. Their corpse will remain in the game world after they die for the normal amount per their level.
There will be no character recovery after a death, except in the case of server failure, where we will systematically restore the character(s) affected.
