Only somewhat related, but this reminds me of a friend who wore an all-white tux with a pink tie to junior prom. The entire night he insisted "It's not pink, it's salmon!" after we would make fun of him about it. Which, of course, we all thought was hilarious. 10 years later and that's still a running joke among that group of friends. Flamboyant indeed.
