Oh God, where do I begin.

The whole Gaza thing has nothing to do with my gayness, so no comment there; however, Muslims/Islam 'teachings' on homosexuality just pisses me off. I haven't met ONE single Muslim who's 'ok' with someone being gay. I went to an international school and when the Arabs learned I'm gay they just stopped talking to me or acknowledging me; mind you, before they knew we were all good friends, and I would lend them my notes, and explain programming exercises etc. Afterwards, not even a hello.

Afterwards, when I left and moved, I met another muslim family and it was the same deal; when they learned I'm gay they just wouldn't even say 'good morning' or if I was on my way in and out of the building and they were around they hold their children close like I was some kind of predator. So in my list of friends nowadays I have 0 muslim friends, they've all decided not to talk to me because I'm gay, like I have this 'disease' and they're going to catch it.

Christians? Jews? nah I got plenty of friends; but muslims run for the hills (with no exception) when they realize they are talking with a gay man.

Considering the history of Islamic pederasty and the arguments over whether pederasty is condoned as long as you follow a few guidelines, that's kind of odd. Off course it would be inaccurate to say that this is a universal truth among all Muslims, but it isn't as if there aren't instances of Muslims within certain subcultures turning a blind eye towards homosexuality or pederasty.

Do you believe it to be part of the greater genetic picture of homosexuality or part of the social and cultural norms of modern and/or Western homosexuality? In other words, is it more nature or more nuture? In your opinion and/or experience?
