Finally got the Virtuoso 150 out for sky viewing with some friends & their kids!
Highlights:
- In the city
- Light cloud cover haze
- Street lamp 30 feet away
- Fast set up & calibration
- Motor on the telescope mount was dead, returning to Amazon
- Saw Jupiter, its moons, & cloud bands
- Saw into the craters of the moon before it disappeared on the horizon
- Watched a plane fly across the moon
The foam shroud I put together helped keep local light pollution to a minimum, underrated mod. Was super impressed with the visuals despite the conditions, ordering a 2x Barlow to get more zoom. I'll snap a pic of the setup once I get the new telescope, it's fairly rugged & fits conveniently in a heavy duty tote, perfect for camping.
