Legit chef, with years in expensive ass restaurants. He's the real deal.

He comes across as silly but that's kind of his whole schtick. He's a very good chef with extremely good technique when it calls for it. He just fucks around a lot on camera. (14 years in hospitality, most of which was back of house as personal experience. Dude knows his shit.)
I think he's still a fat faggy rapper, but whatever.

So in the Lasagna you make you just toss in some plain bechamel sauce and not turn it into a mornay sauce? I mean I see that on THIS video (Italia Squisita), but I don't see how it would be better than Ricotta.

Otherwise that seems just like the Ziti recipe from Chef Jean-Pierre:
View attachment 589948

The recipe from this Sicilian lady is always how I have seen Lasagna made (minus the hard boiled egg topping). I may have had some with plain bechamel at some catered event, but I would much rather have a plethora of other dishes, if ordering individually at a restaurant, so no idea if I have ever had "authentic" lasagna.

Finally, it's just like pizza from Italy that is not like pizza from New York, which are neither like the pizza from Detroit, yet they are all still pizza. If the vast majority of the US uses ricotta in their lasagna, even the Americans with Italian heritage, then it's still lasagna, which has the exact same ingredients of Baked Ziti.

She's honestly one of the best Italian grandma recipe videos YouTube channels out there. I watch her stuff all the time, I love when she sings her goofy Italian songs.

A food derail without paging the Dr.Retarded Dr.Retarded ? For shame.

I like lasagna with mornay and bolognese.

Sorry I can't tell if the guy has autism or a little bit of down syndrome, but I thought that was probably the most appropriate gif. I think it's awesome especially since we were talking about Italian food.

It feels like for about 90% of this show more happens on a season of Seinfeld than what happens with this restaurant staff.

That being said, the show is kind of like it's entrees, I have no business judging or even eating the fancy shit they make, but I appreciate the quality and craftmanship that goes into producing this series.

It hasn't been renewed yet for season 5. I wouldn't be sad if it stopped after the finale of 4, but expect I would keep watching for as many seasons as they decide to make them.

and they give all these side characters one singular task to complete and that is their entire arc/identity for the whole season

yea tina? shes not a sous chef no more, shes just underperforming tina who can't even cook pasta in 3mins, now every scene is her just trying to cook pasta in 3mins

it's drawn out, this show got nuttin no more

Might just delete season 3 off the server and never finish it. It has been almost exactly a year since we quit trying. Probably not going to happen.

I think this one started off with a great idea for a first season and then could never figure out what the next arc would be after "opening a restaurant" so it just kind of sputtered around.

Pretty much said the same thing to my wife - S3 was horrible and we just can't make time to finish it.

i really liked the first and last episode of s3 so maybe there are just some episodes in s3 & s4 you can watch and get the best out of the show

Yeah, this has turned into a disappointment for sure. (And I actually enjoyed the tone and pace of last season)

Very little of the restaurant business is actually in this season. Mostly gone off the rails on the drama family element, which is fine I guess.

Over the last few seasons, I would say that this show is average with some exceptional single episodes .

But at the end of this season , there is really no character I care about seeing the finish.

The interesting characters are pushed aside, and we basically see drama in between music montages.

The usual actors did a fine job for sure, but the story seems to be super weak now with nowhere to go.

It should've ditched the whole restaurant while he went on a journey around the globe to discover why he even does this shit, or something that expanded the world and progressed his character.
