Wait, did I hear him right? ?425 in the UK? That's bloody expensive. I remember paying ?425 for my launch 60gb PS3 with an extra dual shock, a copy of Motorstorm, and a copy of Resistance, and people thought that was overpriced. I don't see this thing selling too well, especially with stiff competition from smartphones, tablets, and, of course, the PS4, which I think will come in at 20% less than the Xbox One.

I'm really surprised they're launching without the subsidised model, too. That seems crazy to me. A $299 Xbox One with monthly payments seemed like a no brainer to me.

To me the $499 price tag definitely rules out buying both systems until major price drops. I'm betting ps4 will come in at $399. Any more and it's too much, considering it doesn't come with the move eye.

With the direction they took the xbone I'm surprised they even bothered releasing it outside of the US

But will they at launch at $500? Or will they wait for Halo 5's release sometime in 2014 or whatever or wait for a price drop?

I could give less than half a rat's ass about their always online, Kinect scanning, online policies or used game prevention. I didn't buy a 360 because I hate playing games on consoles and anything I wanted on 360 I could usually play on PC. Then again I'm in a very minority division of gamers. I still feel the $500 price point will hinder sales especially if PS4 comes out with a SKU at $400.

I dunno about all of em, but I have 3 co workers I talk to and know maybe hald a dozen others who said they would get one at launch as long as it wasn't more then $600. Hell I have a few on my facebook right this moment excited about the price point that it's ONLY $500.

I just shook my head at them.
