I can't imagine EA killed online passes just because the X1 has it built-in; it has to be both systems.

And really, this system is less heinous than I figured. I can play it on multiple X1s I own (or if I upgrade/replace systems); I can even bring it over to a friends house to show him the game, as long as I log in over there. (No cheevos for him though?)

Buy the game from the previous player and sell the game to the next player at (usual price - $USED GAME FEE).
Admittedly, there will be some weirdness when prices really drop low; if the used fee is $20 and the greatest hits version also costs $20, then Gamestop has no reason to try to resell it.

Sony has given out some real specs on the PS4 and talked extensively about how they've customized the hardware. Ye of little faith.

The hard core gamer is probably going to pick the best game machine. We should learn more about that at E3. That presentation though could have easily swayed people who are looking for value to the X1. All the belly aching about the presentation for gamers means jack shit till we get concrete info on the gaming part for both machines.

I'm not hating on Sony since i will get both but the disputes in thread ATM are pretty dumb. Xbox will be Xbox and Sony will be Sony just like it is in current gen, however if ms pulls this cod stunt with other big titles it will fuck Sony over.

Pretty sure they didn't say CoD was coming first, they said CoD map packs were coming first - which is business as usual. The X360 has had timed exclusive map packs/DLC forever now.

We have plenty of concrete info on the PS4, you know, from their conference. This was vague bullshit that centered on TV functions that probably won't work with your provider.

On a completely different note, I find it a bit odd that both the Wii U and the Xbox One have totally unassuming designs. They are anonymous boxes, just like they feared potential customers could be ashamed to have a console under their TV... a strange message to send really.

Dunno, thought I heard its coming out first on Xbox before they even mentioned nothing involving multiplayer, will rematch that portion.

No you're right, it's just dlc. People will still hate that since its the same current practice.

Why does everyone think the TV stuff won't work with their provider? Don't most people use a major cable company or Directv? I'd assume those with hillbilly providers are few and far between.

This might come as a shock to you, but there's an entire world outside of the US where the Xbox's TV stuff won't work.

This is the first generation where I have no plans on owning multiple systems; especially early on in the generation. At this point, it's still a toss-up, but I like more of the Sony exclusives from PS3 and it has me leaning toward the PS4.

It may not be always on, but it does appear to always authenticate. (How exactly does that work anyway? If my system isn't online, does the disc still work the first time? The Nth time? Can I rent/buy a used game if I just don't have the system online while I'm doing that? Do they retroactively reset the Cheevos earned offline from a non-authenticated game once I get online again?)

And in more general terms, why did that presentation get pushed back from April? They didn't have the CoD dog footage shot yet?

Not that I would be ashamed(I have all 3 of the current gen consoles in my living room right now), but I much prefer something that fits with the rest of components. Xbox One is pretty boring looking, but I think it would look better on my entertainment system than the ugly white one that's sitting there now.
