You guys are crazy. The X360 controller is superior in *every* way except for the shotty d-pad. Better grip and ergonomics, far better stick placement, good triggers, etc.
PS3 controller is good for fighters, but aside from that i much prefer my 360 controller. The amusing part is i had my ps3 a good 2 years before my first sexbox, and now i have a ps3 i turn on once every couple months and 4 different 360's.

I'm pretty sure if you prefer PS3 controller over Xbox, you just have some retarded playstation bias. I don't even own a 360 and still prefer the controller over my PS3's.

I'm one of those ones that mainly uses the 360 just for the controller. The original PS3 controller's weight and lack of vibration definitely contributed to that decision.

I don't understand the purpose of a trackpad in that position. To use it, you have to let go of the right hand, which is the buttons hand and using the left triggers while using the trackpad seems also unpractical... Why not use the back like in the Vita?

One of the rumors is that the PS4 controller does have a pad in the back like the Vita does.
Having a touchpad on both front and back wouldn't make much sense, or am I missing something? The Eurogamer article on the same thing specifically mentions there isn't a pad on the back, but they don't back that up with evidence, anecdotal or otherwise.

Not surprisingly, the PlayStation 4 rumors have been flowing as of late. With the expected reveal of the console coming this Wednesday, February 20 in New York City, it only makes sense that little bits of information would begin to emerge about what we'll be seeing.

The newest rumor is in regard to the next PlayStation's ability to stream games. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that "Sony Corp. is planning to offer technology to stream games to its next videogame console," according to its own sources.

The new technology, to be unveiled Wednesday along with the new console, will allow users to play games delivered over the Internet, these people said. The streaming service, they added, is designed to use current PlayStation 3 titles on the new console; the new device is also expected to play new games stored on optical discs.

As WSJ points out, such a move on Sony's part would be unsurprising. Even when it was drowning in red ink, it still took a massive risk when it bought streaming service Gaikai for $380 million. There is absolutely no doubt that, with an investment that significant at such a difficult time for Sony, Gaikai's technology will be poised to play an important role in Sony's future.

Streaming games to PlayStation 4 (and perhaps other Sony devices) would be significant, giving gamers access to a wide array of titles that they never had to purchase outright. This could suggest that Sony may have a game rental-like service on its next PlayStation, or perhaps even a new subscription service that would give gamers access to a library of offerings. At this point, everything remains speculative.

We've reached out to Sony for official comment and will update when we hear back. In the meantime, catch up on all of the pertinent PlayStation 4 news and rumors, including (but not limited to) information on PS4's controller, word of a new LittleBigPlanet and the possibility of Killzone 4 being a launch title.
If true, and does not suck, this could be pretty awesome. It's not much different in theory than the current PS-store, but if you can play all of Sony's games(including vita/psp) on the new console that would be pretty cool. I am not sure i would be renting many relics but if i could get Legend of Dragoon to play on ps4 i would be all for it.

If streaming means downloading a minimal set of data to start playing that'd be good, if it means a datacenter runs the game and you see compressed video of it while sending commands to it with a likely >100ms roundtrip lag, then good luck.

It means the latter.

I think streaming games is going to suck hardcore. Perhaps some games would stream ok, but other more demanding games might chug.

Not sure if want.

I had rather the streaming service be their movies. One flat monthly fee to watch all their movies as many times as I want, even the newly released titles. Give me that along with improving the PSN to download every playstation release game (steam like service) and they'll need to hire immigrants from home depot to help carry money to the bank. You know what, fuck that. They could build robots with that money and have them carry it to the bank.

Wait people prefer the shitty ps3 controller to xbox controller? Da fuck
The only thing shitty about the DS3 is the tension on the springs on L2/R2, and the fact that the triggers aren't concave.

I don't know what the fuck to make of the DS4 though. Putting a Move light on a gamepad is shit-all stupid, and I am not a fan of making it wider just to accommodate a touchpad gimmick either.

I think it's pretty safe to expect the dev kit controller to have all the functionality of the PS4 controller without being the final design.

As for streaming games Gaikai / OnLive style, I remember the people trying those being pleasantly surprised. That said, latency is unavoidable, making twitchy games a no-no and text + video compression seems like a straight path to violent headaches... unless they use some sort of "clever" compression system (like upload the main fonts of the game to the PS4 and then use an algorithm that detect the text in the video stream and replace that area with a bitmap created by the PS4 using the uploaded font). Or maybe I am making an issue of something that wasn't one?
