Meant my area as being abnormal, not average America. TBH I think we've always been PS heavy though previous gen.

Florida one's are likely more average, MD for a high income example... Etc.

Hell, since we're high income they might be selling like crazy and just getting replenished better - note their statement didn't include sales or shipment info, just that they've remained in stock. Its just data, take it as you will.

True but its coming to a crest now that almost EVERYTHING is doing it now, and what used to be addons - skins, bonus weapons, maps - stuff that's core like characters in fighters are getting added to the pile now.

I can't wait for RPGs to start being solo only to start with DLC character slots for NPCs etc. I'm being sarcastic, mostly.

But initial DLC that replaced expansion packs is a bit different from the super recenttakes.

They haven't even balanced, or released the first 8 yet. By the time they introduce 8 more characters you can be sure that it will be for a re-balanced version like every other fighting game on the planet.

I guess you would have rathered Double Helix launch there fighting game at 60 bucks, charge you for costume packs like Sf4 did, and still charge you for the expansion DLC...

It sucks, but gamers have no one but themselves to blame. We constantly buy the shit, so they will keep doing it. Just look at EQ:N, $100 to alpha test and people swallowing it up with "its just 100, no biggy" or "Nothing better to do" and thus the reason industry is like it is.

True but I meant large meaningless gouges. I don't mind skippable expansions or cosmetic shit as DLC myself, so my start point would be different. NWN is the firstpay for beta I knew of.

farmville and zynga are where it became huge, at one point zynga was worth more than EA and just had a bunch of shitty facebook games but had massive month to month growth. mmos started copying it, then f2p became a big thing, mobile games took off huge, and then single player games took it on, and now we are in a world where paying $x for a game is just the start. It probably is one of those things that ebbs and flows, MMOs were really in love with f2p until 2014, but now we have Wildstar, TESO, and FF14 all going back to sub based - lets see if it sticks.

replaced the hard drive in my ps4 with a 1tb hybrid drive I got cheap, was easy and painless and done in under 10 minutes. After installing firmware from USB drive and logging into PSN all my settings and saves were restored, although had to go into PSN store and remark all the games I had to redownload. works great!

That is an issue with patched out things, they sometimes show back up by accident.

I'm sure PS4 will get similar rewind glitches at times too.

Fair bit of overlap on many of the stronger titles. And yeah if you own a PS4 already, then it's definitely a no-brainer. Just remembered there were some individuals questioning the validity of the service some time back and wanted to provide some end-of-year context.

I droped PSN last year, but just resubbed for a year just 2 weeks ago (missed black friday prices)

So farm Grid2, Borderlands2, Galaga, and Shadows of the Colossus have already provided me $100 in games i wanted to buy anyway for $49. Its been 2 weeks. Would also have gotten Uncharted 3 if i did not own it.

Its damn good value.
