Depends on what you call true 1080p - that definition varies by the person - most stuff does similar dynamic stuff occasionally (with upscaling) during loading and such for a second or two that people gladly call "true 1080p/720p/4k" whatever else. Does seem inaccurate to call it 1080p rather than something else, but being that I've never heard of "intermixing 960p and 1080p frames" as a thing before I'm not sure there's a proper term for it - "1080p" does seem to closest one that fits of the ones in use but it does seem different enough it should have its own.
More in short - it's weird, but in "lawyer land" probably still meets whats needed to call it 1080p.

PS - Some of the indie stuff isn't 1080p either I believe if you're looking for some "OMG PS4 SUX LOOK AT THIS" stuff. [Doki Doki I'm 99% sure isn't 1080p for example]
PSS - Was at Costco this weekend, they had a pallet of XBoxOnes there - one sold out of the entire pallet at $479. (Yep, $20 off retail in the US) Was probably 150 in the pallet (it was a BIGGGGGG pallet - was it's own "endcap" for the row) - reached for the phone to take a pic but realized I'd forgotten it.
PSSS - I will admit though that Garden Warfare would probably have me joining the team for a little bit though if it wasn't coming to PC in a few months.

Comparing ALMOST EVERY title (every one except Forza I think, right? And that has lots of tricks up it's sleeve that are hardly "true 1080p") to one mode of one title out of around two dozen or whatever the specific numbers on each side are (that's my guess it might be slightly less lopsided, but it's still lopsided). Familiar with what false equivalence is?

While I will agree that Sean is insufferable in defending his opinions(right or wrong), in this case I really don't think the PS4 can be hated on. This is literally one example of it and it's not even a cross-platform title to compare it fairly. One example versus the many cases of the Xbone having inferior resolution, effects or framerates. I don't care one way or the other, but this one case doesn't really make the PS4 look any less superior as far as "resolution dominance". It's still dominating its only competition in this regard.

Either way the Xbone still can't match what the PS4 is putting out so shut the fuck up. Sean's argument has always been, simply, that the PS4 is superior.

Dude when you pick the wrong team you have to lash out in anger. They're slowly realizing that when the xbox division is shut down they'll be left with a large door stop that will only move when you issue voice commands and violent hand gestures.
I'm frothing in anticipation to watch Titanfall turn it all around though.
