I hate timers in games in general as I don't like to "miss" stuff. In rogue lites and such, sure, but in story based games, no. Based on his review, this seems like a "bad" timer as well, since he brings up that it really doesn't matter that much as you can explore and get most things, but only if you skip your character progression as that is where the timer comes in. Spending skill points takes time, so he had 60 skill points unused at a time because he didn't want to miss doing things. Also skipped much of the vampire/magic skills because you only get access to those at night.
Story overall is good and even small quests continue to tie in to stuff later so the world and people in it seem to matter, but the downside and if you enjoy it will pretty much all come down to the timer aspect. Because if you do invest all your points and such, the world will be "less" because you don't have the time to experience it all.
Will probably pick it up later then at a sale once there is a mod that removes the timer, especially for skill points.
