I do not have the game. That said I read this today, yeah they are mods but it could fix some of the issues until it's patched in. FYI due to the reviews here I also will not pick it up until it's deeply discounted:

So they announced 1 million sales in the first week. That seems like a good number in one week for a startup Indy, can any nerds tell me if that holds true today for numbers?

I gotta imagine as time goes on plus discount stakes they might make 5 million in the first year. That has to be a good signal for future games to improve upon this formula

I played the game for a while to decide for myself if it was worth buying. Ended up stopping shortly after the prologue with zero interest in continuing. None of the characters, including the family you're supposed to be saving, are compelling at all. The combat is basically just a knockoff of the shitty system in KCD.

The timer is the only thing unique or interesting about the game, and unfortunately that's not really meant as a compliment. Just based on how the prologue goes I could already see how it would annoy the shit out of me after a while. There's two quests in the prologue that essentially give nothing of value besides a lesson in 'morality'; like whether you want to deal out corporal punishment to some asshole kid who talks shit about your family, or deciding whether or not to help slaughter a pig. Once you identify those two quests as being completely worthless and note that one of the other quests doesn't have an expiration on it, you're free to complete everything else in the prologue without issue. I didn't play long enough to say this is 100% the case, but I strongly suspect that that's how the entire game is going to go. And I also know that anytime I finish a quest and the reward is shit, I would want to reload my save to avoid it rather than eat the loss of time. At the same time, I think modding it out would be completely retarded because it's literally what holds the whole game together. Might as well just go play Tainted Grail, Gothic 1 remake, or wait for TW3 remastered if you're going to do that.

All in all, this is the most disappointing "game that I was really looking forward to" since Dying Light 2. At least this time I figured it out before pissing away $70.

Is dying light 2 any decent at all even after the patches and what have you? I figure one day I'll pick it up on a steam sale because I enjoyed the first one.

It's better than it was but as a huge fan of the first one I still don't think it's worth the time or money.

Thanks that's why I'm not picked it up yet even when it's been on sale. The first one was just so damn good and maybe I need to just replay through it.

I bought it on sale a while ago and tried 2-3 times , just could not get into it. The 1st one was a blast.

While I'm enjoying the game. I'll say this FUCK YOU devs for using the "let's strip him of his gear and items before a boss fight and then have some of his abilities not work" trope. I hate it here and in every game that uses it.

It's not fucking fun I didn't spend 30 hours leveling, collecting and improving my gear, gathering and crafting potions and shit just to have everything taken away before the boss fight. Just fuck you.

Sorry for the rant.

They did that shit multiple times in the first five days. Unequip all your gear, have it one or two rooms away, and wouldn't even auto equip after you found it again.
