Wildstar isn't that bad and I have a good bit of fun playing the beta, and this is coming from someone who despises everything that WoW has become. It really isn't my cup of tea, but it's ok for what it is.

LOL. You have 3 different Beta testers that say Wildstar is laughably boring? On this fucken forum alone there is at least 3-4 people that say it's pretty good and 3-4 that say it isn't.. Actually, Woolygimp's post just a few above yours is the first time I've read someone saying they are actually in the Wildstar beta and enjoying it. Maybe you've read more, but I'm not aware of them. And, yeah, I have read from 3 different sources that Wildstar beta is bad. The 'laughably boring' is my own spin. Let's be honest, though; it's human nature to choose sides. Wildstar and ESO are going in pretty different directions. I have never liked WOW or where that game took the genre - in my mind Wildstar is amplifying all things WOW. So, yeah, I tend to pay more attention when someone says it sucks. What's really the problem, though? If it turns out Wildstar is awesome and ESO sucks, you'll be playing Wildstar, and I'll be playing something else while I wait for the next one. Maybe EQN or Pathfinder. Nothing to get all rustled about, bro.

1) Quit being politically correct and grow a pair of balls when talking about a game. We aren't in one of your meetings.
2) It isn't the developers. It is the people above them, so maybe you do need some insider information to understand that.
The developers themselves are not at fault. it's the way the system has been operating which is holding the genre stagnant. It continues to be a select few who are horrible not only at managing games but thinking their shit doesn't stink when it comes to ideas, when in reality they completely do. The good folks, some really good designers that even work for Zenimax Online by the way, get shouted down by the good ol boys club which has grown from just SOE and Mythic and into, at this point, 4 other companies directly fromSOE or Mythic.
See the previous posts about employee satisfaction, which will get drowned out by Blackwulf for obvious reasons.
If you want, go make a thread saying "Elder Scrolls Online: Positive talk only" and I'll stay out of it and we can have the real discussion here in the non-grassroots blackwulf shill thread.

As amusing as he might be, I can't take credit for Lord Blanco. Now, you keep mentioning me, like I'm the only one in the universe who thinks this game has potential, so I guess I have to respond to you a little. First, your little exit survey doesn't mean shit. Every company with more than 5 employees has someone feeling disgruntled from time to time. I'm sure lots of young talent at Zenimax gets their panties twisted all the time that they aren't calling the shots. I mean going from being your mom's special boy, getting A's in all your computer classes at college and then you are tasked with seemingly boring, repetitive work at your first real job; sure, some little, special apples are going to get rustled and rage about how the 'good old boys' make all the decisions and expect you to have to actually put some time in before they'll listen to your brilliant ideas. The fools! Haha, we've all been there, bud, and it is definitely not something that only happens in the software industry. I ran into it in banking, retail, and to a lesser extent education. Welcome to life.
Next, you talk about how all the software companies are corrupted by Mythic and SOE. I can agree with you to a certain extent. I was very excited, back in the day about WAR, because it was being made by Mythic! How could they screw this up? Well, they did. So, Mark Jacobs and his buddy Paul Barnett lost credibility with me. Matt Firor was not involved in that one, so I'm giving him a chance. I know, I know, you'll go on and on about the terrible things he did with DAOC, but my opinion is that he did a lot more good than bad with DAOC. I even mostly liked TOA. If you got past the bugs, TOA was pretty fucking revolutionary. Now, if Firor fucks up badly with ESO, then he'll join Jacobs on my 'watch but do NOT trust' list (along with Brad Mcquaid.) Paul Barnett is on my 'fuck you, I'll never listen to you again' list. See how that works, though? I'm going to wait and see how Firor's game ends up before I'm going to judge him. Crazy, I know.
Now, about that video: I think it looks fine. I even like the art direction. The animations could use some work, but man, I've been playing games like DDO for so long, that they actually look pretty decent to me. I don't really give two fucks about animations. Is crafting meaningful? Is the combat fun? Is character advancement complex and interesting? Is RVR done well? Is the world big and engaging? These are things I don't really know yet, but if the answer to most of them is yes, then I'll be happy. Fuck animations. Also, what is it with you and Hero Engine? I still don't see why you keep bringing that up. They say it isn't Hero Engine, you say it is. Do you have some kind of proof? Who fucking cares? Does the game run smoothly? Can you have lots of characters on screen? Good enough.

If the consumer is demanding gameplay like WOW, that is what the studios are going to produce. It's a travesty and I feel WOW has been a leech on the neck of the MMO genre, but that's the reality of it. That said, I am also a long time fan of DAoC, and I have high hopes for TESO.
