Fair enough, Tarrant. I really started out posting yesterday just to say, simply, for the record that I think this game will be very good when released. I didn't intend to have to get into the back and forth of why I think it will be good, why I'm a dumb shill, why DMK wants to fuck my girlfriend, etc., etc.

So, until I feel that it would be appropriate to expand on my views, all I'm saying is that I strongly disagree with the very vocal, very abrasive people in this thread who are sure that this game will be a "pile of shit."

In the not too distant future, people will be able to decide, based on their own experience, who was right.

I'm not in beta, i dont know all these insider game gods like, UT. i just know regardless of what some fools say about the game, I'll still buy it and try it. opinions differ and i dont give a fuck about wasting some money and i dont give a flying fuck about the box sales and giving Bethesda money

The game definitely suffers from players being stuck in the mindset of get to the top as fast as possible when the game is more layed out to be played like skyrim where you just go out and see what you run in to more or less.

i have a friend in the beta. i've seen it several times. it looks and plays almost exactly like darkfall. if you like that game, i guess you'll like TESO.

Well from reviews making it sound "Single Person Drop-In Drop-Out MP" versus a true MMO, I'm already HIIIIIIIIGHLY dubious of it. Plus a little annoyed at them being friends with many in the core studio that I've not gotten a slot yet either. (It's mostly being handled by ZeniMax versus BethSoft internal - and all my good friends work at BethSoft internal - but still, considering I've gotten a free PC copy of everything since Daggerfall from them you'd think a beta for their online product would be a given... no?)

But if it truly is a MMO without others for the most part I fully expect it to last me the couple hours that Conan mustered for me.

I guess I'll post this again. The game is not, in any way shape or form, drop in drop out instanced multiplayer. It is an uninstanced world just like any standard mmo. I KNOW this.

While I appreciate their rather stalwart defense and find them amusing, no, they are not me. Your level of rustledness is rather elevated, bud. Relax, it's just a game forum talking about a game that isn't out yet.

Definitely not an alt account - not even sure what the BW he's referencing is? BioWare for TOR or something? Only BW I can see that would make any sense in this thread.

And Carl: I'll have to see it to believe it - "review" is the wrong word, but their plan for the game sounds very much like you're the "hero of your own world" type talk that ends up meaning drop-in/drop-out type. My expectations for a MMO are so ridiculously low now with how recent games have done though, I don't think I'll be hard to impress however assuming they didn't screw up that fundamental. Of course it's easy to screw up the "combat is too damn hectic to chat with anyone text anymore" thing that no game has gotten right recently - I don't like talking on a mike and if you're not chatting at all in a MMO, why bother with the frustrations involved with other people? [i.e. the latter being my biggest take on the FF14 beta currently - no one talks because you're constantly button mashing]
