I dont agree about the whole "limitation of setting" I mean WTF? We have interplanetary travel, we have "gates" forged by ancient alien race (mystery) to other solar systems. And we have closer to RL physics instead of the tired SCI FI dogma of do anything and go anywhere at warp speeds without the limitation of, you know, physics? What has been done to death in games and movies? The unrealistic shit. What has not really been done in movies and games? The more realistic humbling shit.

With highly fantastical/unrealistic settings, the studio can obscure some of the narrative weakness within the folds of the 'fantasy,' but games that are much more grounded in reality are given a lot less narrative leeway.

I agree with you that there have been a million games done with a super Sci-fi feel and that there's plenty of room for a game like The Expanse, but I think it's significantly harder to make them good.

Uh, TV show only guy I guess ? It depends when the game is set, but post Laconia has as much realistic grounding as Halo or Mass Effect.

I am not sure where you're going with it in any case - it's pretty close to 100% certain that whatever storyline the game devs come up with won't be as good as the books, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to suck.

Yeah this. If you haven't read the books, highly advise you do.

The show cuts off at book 5. The last 3 books are a 30 year time jump and show the results of 30 years of protomolecule research. Mass Effect type shit is happening.
