Plus wouldn't she have to jump of harder then what the ship pushed off in order to catch up? Like maybe she would have to get a running start to at least have a chance to get to it?

They want to blow up the roci more than they want to kill Naomi immediately.

So they let it go on auto pilot thinking she will die with it or something. I don't remember exactly.

Know what I do remember?

Naomi was a zero g ballerina

It’s been a while but I think they thought she did die at first, then later on they suspect she maybe lived but it doesn’t matter because the ship had jackshit on it? I would have to reread.

But ya, in the books Naomi is a zero G movement master, even compared to some other belters.

I was really hoping the show would focus more on what happened in the background in the books...

Instead we get the Naomi clown show.

Part of me really thinks so much time has been dedicated to her character because of politics...

I kind of shuddered when I found out the writers and most of the cast was woke AF

Well, for me the shows been the best episodic science fiction ever created so I feel they’ve done just fine.

Uh, considering how cold the vacuum of space is, I'd expect some pretty catastrophic effects immediately on anything life that is composed of mainly water
Here's the take of one of the most realistic and visionary rpg on this :

Until this season I would have agreed wholeheartedly.

Now, I only watch because of inertia. I don't really enjoy the show, I don't look forward to it, it's a slog.

I'm guessing the session finale will be something I expected in about episode 3.

yeah, I guess it woulda been nice to see more with the gates and this other species of aliens that were pissed off about using them than the Belters declaring independence/war. But I’m still enjoying it a great deal.

I was super into the show, but it's definitely become a "Meh I guess so" on my list of things. It's not actively bad like the boys season 2 was, and certainly not the streaming pile of shit that westworld became, but it's definitely not keeping me on the edge of my seat.

Hard to say what I meant without spoiling it, but yeah... I liked the book the show is covering right now, it just didn't translate well to ultra nerd space porn.

To soapy.

Either way, I'll slog through this season, and watch the next one. It would have been nice if they condensed this stuff way down, and got us further in the story.

Feels like we are in a GoT spiral

Yeah, this describes me almost exactly. The only difference is that I gave up on Westworld toward the end of season 1 - I could see the shit show coming.

I'm also probably a little bit higher than "I guess so" on The Expanse still, but I'm quickly getting to that point.

You gave up on Westworld during season 1?

So what counts as something 'good'? What do you want?
I'd still qualify the current show as "good", it just isn't really in that, "new episode, fuck yeah!!" territory for me anymore. The show started the downward slide around midway through season 4 for me, however. But, a lot of people said that book 4 was the weakest, so I'm sure the source didn't help the show at all.

I mean, obviously Amos is still fucking badass despite them doing everything they can to make his character as boring as possible, Alex is still one of my favorites when he isn't being a mopey dad (I still don't get the hate for Cas Anvar - I think the dude has done an amazing job of developing that character from a mostly timid, unsure of himself pilot into someone I believe is a total badass pilot when he's on-screen), Holden has that total Superman/Paladin vibe(somebody you fucking hate because they are a total boyscout, but in an ironic way, sometimes actually admire that they are that steadfast with some of their ideals/moral compass) nailed, Averserala is probably one of the most believable "badass" women I've seen put to screen since Ripley, and has been said, the guy playing Marco is totally fucking nailing the "rockstar" terrorist vibe.

The show only really suffers for me when Bobby and Naomi are onscreen. Unfortunately, the last 2 seasons have pretty heavily featured both, especially Naomi. I'm just finding a lot of "nitpicky" shit wrong with the show lately. I think the quality and attention to detail has clearly gone down since the Amazon takeover - although, it could just be an issue of the source material not being as great as well(I don't know, since reading is for nerds). Which is why I asked if the Princess Leia scene happened in the books. Apparently it did and they can try to "science" excuses for it all they want, but that scene was fucking retarded.

Cas Anvar got metoo'd, so that is where a lot of the hate online comes from now. He won't be in the next season apparently.

So they jettisoned the protomolecule before the Zemeya exploded, yeah? Because they never met up for their rendez vous with Inaros's fleet. So either they dumped it in a pod or something OR, the much more interesting thing, would be if they DIDN'T and Mars is super pissed because they botched their agreement.

I don't recall them showing anything in the show, although Marcos didn't seem particularly concerned when he told that ship to proceed with their orders.

I agree, this is the greatest sci fi show ever made.

I’m loving season 5 so far - pretty faithful to the books. Amos and Avasarala scenes are strongest but I think all the characters are excellent - including Holden and Naomi.

I actually prefer show Holden to book - they made his character slightly less naive in the show.
