Maybe we're on different pages but every frito burrito I've ever had they had rice in there. It was spanish rice not cilantro lime, though.

Frito burritos were definitely just chili, grated cheese, fritos, and maybe sour cream. Basically you added fritos to a chili cheese burrito (or chilito as they used to be called until someone in marketing realized it was mexican for small dick). Worked there back in high school, and I can at least remember that the originals never had rice. Only good thing about that job was being able to build whatever you wanted, and it was normally much better then the standard menu items.

I bet you could order it with no rice and they would put more meat in there just to fill up the tortilla.

I'm glad I already had plans yesterday so that I didn't get them with rice. When I go tonight this is exactly what I will be doing.

I just looked them up on Taco Bells website, I guess they are supposed to have rice in them now, and it's the white "cilantro lime" rice. Damnit, that's not even remotely the same as what they used to be back in the glory days. Oh well.

the original Frito Burrito used to basically be a chili-cheese burrito with fritos added. It was perfect, as fritos are a great addition to chili.
Ya I was pretty disappointed in it. It really just tasted like tortilla and Fritos, and it was pretty dry to boot. The mini quesadillas were really good for being $1 though

Best burger place I have ever eaten at is called MVP's in Long Beach, CA. Burger selection is big and the portions are huge. You can get regular or cajun fries and an order comes in a big brown paper bag.

New place nearby opened up called Classic Burgers. Basically like a Five Guys, but 10x better and they do stuff other stuff like milk shakes and chilli cheese fries and special limited time only burgers (like now they have a James Dean burger which has applewood smoked bacon, jalapeno BBQ sauce, smoked chili aioli, and cheddar cheese).

It was originally around in the late mid to late 90's. First job when I turned 16 (34 now), and worked there from '96-'98. I wanna say they canned the original either '99 or '00. Believe me, I did three tours at the bell: Starwars Episode 1, Mathew Broderick Godzilla, and the launch of the yo quiero dog. I also remember when they brought out fire sauce. That was a good day...

Finally had a quesarito, very tasty.

Frito Burrito was terrible. It was bland as fuck. And poorly made, it was all rice and frito at both ends with a baby helping of meat in the middle. The rice was the worst kind of filler, flavorless as fuck. Seriously bad.

Even worse, the mix on the Baja Blast was off. Blasphemy...

Chilito (chili cheese burritto) was around in the 90s, but the frito burritto was much later than that. I worked at the bell in high school 94-95.

Anyone heard ofMOD Pizza | Whats Your MOD?? Got one opening up near me soon and it looks really good. 11 inch pizza for $7.17 no matter how many toppings you put on it. Was looking at the online ordering and you can choose everything from the type of sauce to different cheeses.

It was 96-00, or at least that's the range I remember. It came out closely after they canned the bacon line of products (bacon cheeseburger burrito, BLT soft taco, chicken club burrito) and the ranchero burrito line. It's also quite possible it was a regional deal (I was in Texas at the time).

I also worked at Taco Bell in the late 90's, The quality difference in their food between now and then is appalling. I really miss their Steak, Chicken and Chili Cheese Burritos from that era. If they brought that shit back I'd eat there almost every day.

I dont know if its the same but the place like that here is really good. Their crusts are done however you want and the kids working there have some awesome ideas Ive let them make me their favorites.
