That's actually really cool.

All it takes imo is for EVO to be on ESPN or ESPN2 one year, even late at night, and this thing will blow up from the coverage. So it's good to see CEO did something gimmicky enough to start getting some mainstream press recognition as a legit competitive sport. Poongko's evo moment a few years ago came to mind watching this, and his downing of the red bull to perfecting Daigo would have made for a killer clip for ESPN.

I didn't know that :/. EVO is at a good time when there's fuckall going on. Even in Europe it's transfer season. I've never met a person who sat down and wasn't hooked after watching a few good matches.

EVO and Excellent Adventures could get anyone into the FGC. Shit EA got my ex into it and she's never played a fighting game in her life. Seriously, anyone who even has a passing interest and isn't watching Excellent Adventures is doing themselves a huge disservice. They give a shit about their fans too. I know for a fact and I'll leave it at that.

Can't sorry. Doing so would be a shit thing to do. From what I've heard about it Mike just handles interruptions in his work/day better than Ryan does. But they both care about their fans. Being upset when people interrupt or interfere with a job your being paid to do doesn't make you a dick.

If I saw them somewhere they were working I wouldn't be "that guy" and wait around trying to interrupt what little down time they might have to meet them. But if I saw them at a convention just wandering around I'd say hi and thank them for the work they do. There's a shit ton of "that guy"s though. They also take it as a personal affront if someone is "too Hollywood" to stop what they are doing and take a selfie then talk shit about it.

Who knows if anyone is legit if you don't know them personally.

I know tho that Gootecks has bought cabs, or offered to buy cabs for various places , and only asked for any money generated pay for the cab. At that point he donated it too the arcade etc.

That's pretty good in my book. I'm pretty sure Gootecks understands that building the FGC community is way more important then himself since he has been it for so long.

He did me a solid for no gain after contacting him at the last minute(because of taking those rumors at face value. It was an "at least I tried" Hail Mary) when some other folks left me hanging. He even put himself out to do it in a way I would have never expected or asked for. I'm grateful and trying to respect that by not telling every dumb motherfucker in the world the details so they can harass him and say YOU DID ___ WHY CANT YOU DO THAT FOR EVERYONE DICK. It wasn't some big thing otherwise I wouldn't have asked him or the other seven people. But he had nothing to gain and doing it put him out. He did it anyways just because he could without knowing me from any other faceless fan on the internet. Maybe I caught him on a good day but you don't risk causing yourself hassle just to help out a stranger if you don't give a shit.

These people may be minor celebs in a small community but most of them have a 9-5 and put in 40+ on top of it doing what they do. It may be "just another job" but you don't do that unless you have a passion for it. Anyone who watched Ryan's video about the EA hiatus and legal problems with Capcom knows the man cares. Cannot wait for EVO! Just realized it's next weekend the other day and I move back to Florida tomorrow thank god. My ex and I are going to watch it on the big screen, eat hot wings, and get shit faced. Best ex ever haha ;_;.

Im really hoping these legacy drivers work with SF5, but don't have my hopes up.

I don't want to buy a new stick, but may need to. Pretty attached to my Qanba tho.

Might buy a Hori if they go on sale for EVO. I'm lucky enough to live in a place where I can get a good bit of local competition, and stay offline.
