So technical question:

Ive got ULT Luna pretty much maxed out. Ive followed the builds online, specifically for Storm Hanger. Yet I dont get anywhere near the numbers these guys bring down, I do sometimes 1mil with an average crit of 5-800. I see numbers like 2-3 mill average with a clear speed of 30 secs. Now if I copy their build, why am I not getting these type of numbers? Is it a different Stormhanger? Ive seen it with all the month special bosses and I cant figure out these damage numbers

Late response, but the build your following is just a skeleton of the build. They get those numbers because they have max'd out Cores everywhere, and possibly an outrageous Ancestor Mod. Getting the right mods and the right Arche Tuning setup is the easy part. Maybe the Stormhanger kills via Luna have been Gun based, if so, they are using best rolled Gun possible.

Big update tomorrow, with Onslaught mode being officially released; here is a TLDR vid:

The Valby and Ines reworks looks too good to last more than a week, haha, especially Ines. The Valby changes really look nice, she becomes muuuuch more mobile with being able to use other skills with her using her #3 to surf around (yes, she now uses a surf board to glide across water).

Another TLDR;

Gun based Ines is actually really good. Onslaught was changed up so the Colossus will inzone at the end, rather than having you port to the Abyss. Nice change. The new Bounty Op is a bit tedious due to the Elites and Boss having a huuuuuge HP pool, plus the key item to open the loot box (good loot though) at the end is super rare.

The new loot system seems pretty good. All the AM's got changed so that there are no longer numbered AM's which would require you to get 4 different AM's to get all the pieces for whatever you wanted to craft. Now, you just need 1 AM tied to the item you want, and it will have all the pieces in it (along with a catalyst bp), each with a 20% chance. They also have a pity system for them. Works well, imo.

I'm curious about this game but everytime I check any gameplay, the characters have the shittiest designs. Can you buy ingame skins or obtain alternate skins for free? I get the gooner aspect it's just overdone so much in this it loops back into just boring porn stuff and it seems every char is the same.

If what other people are wearing will bother you, then you'll probably not have a good time playing. Depending on the character you want to play, for females at least, you do have options on how "gooner" you want to go:

options.jpg

On the left is one of Viessa's better outfits that you can buy, the middle one is the current Battle Pass skin you can get for free, and the one of the right is a Summer skin that you cannot buy now. Most of the females will have that range of options to pick from, or really stupid/funny outfits like a dog suit or corn suit. The males all have "normal" sci-fi looking outfits, and some themed outfits.

Edit: The BP skin isn't free, its on the basic track, so like $10 or $15.

I don't really care about what other ppl wear, just my own chars. Sounds like there's some decent alternatives but paid only, I'll probably check the game out eventually when I'm not playing anything else see if it's any fun.

The game is pretty fun for a while anyways - if you like games like Warframe then it may feel a bit familiar. The story is standard nonsense you see in many Korean games like this.

Leveling up you can do whatever, but once you unlock hardmode stuff (which is what you run exclusively once it opens up because non-hardmode gear is useless), you'll probably want to start looking up builds. New players get a ton of resources to help you upgrade stuff, but you'll want to save most of it until you figure out what build you want to do or what character you want to play. When you start the game fresh, you get a choice of 1 of 3 heroes (Viessa is one, the image that got posted above. She's basically like a frost mage type character). Additional heroes can either be unlocked through events (like Ultimate Bunny, which is a popular farming character because you just run around and AOE shit), cash shop, or you can grind the research components to get them for free.

I used to play a character called Serena (the one that looks like Sydney Sweeney cosplaying as Mercy from Overwatch you may have seen images of). She had a fun build where you flew around carpet bombing with a grenade launcher and dive bombing shit constantly, although they kinda nerfed the build a bit last time I played. The Haley character (the sniper chick) was kinda fun but sort of useless in higher level stuff (outside farming some bosses that you could snipe down in a few seconds) because she had to sit still to snipe and you'd get swarmed by NPCs and owned. I think they redid her a bit to solve for some of that.

New players will now start off with all 3 of the starter characters, Viessa, Ajax and Lepic after finishing the Prologue. They indeed buffed Hailey, she can now AoE very well.

Having a literal blast playing the new Gun based Ines, so it will probably get adjusted later this week. Ines + Plasma Bullet + Hammer & Anvil shotgun. Superb.

I’m just building Ines What is your specific gun build? I’m just learning her attacks and they seem pretty intense for how much/little I have spaced her so far

did they need Frenya? It doesn’t seem like she does the damage she did

and Viessa’s lag on skills sucks compared to being able to spam her cold line you void before. Slower but her hits crit/blow up everything even harder now it seems

This is the build I am using, Ornery Biscuit. Just note, people think that Ines is broken atm due to her passive damage skill, Dark Current not being affected by enemy defense like it should be. So I imagine this build might be nuked later this week.

The build is centered around using Plasma Bullet for the red mod, Current Bonding for the Trigger mod, and the Hammer & Anvil shotgun.

Plasma Bullet will work with a Gun or Sword, but Gun is better. It changes her #1 into a Toggle that allows bullets to act as her normal #1, which will place the Conductor debuff on mobs, and to trigger her passive Dark Current. It also changes her #3 from a super nuke into a forward Dash that reloads the gun and generates special resource. It has 3 charges and a very short cooldown. She is very fast in this build.

The Trigger mod will only work vs. Bosses, Tyrants and Commanders, so its really only needed for higher end content like Colossi, Axion Plains, Breach and Bounties, but I use it all the time. To enable the "bond" between you and the target, you'll need to use her #2 to hit the mob. You'll see a current connect you and the mob, this will allow each bullet that hits to dea increasing damage based on the stacks of the bond on the mob. For a Skill based build, this will enable her #3 to hit much much harder at full stacks.

Some explanation about the gun, Hammer & Anvil. It has two fire modes, "Hammer" which fires out slugs, and "Anvil" which fires out slugs that air burst and send out tracking bullets. This build wants to use Anvil. The default mode is Hammer (square reticle), so after every zone you'll need to switch to Anvil (circle reticle). The number of tracking bullets is relative to the number of shells in the magazine, I've seen 50 on Ines. Each of those tracking bullets will count as an attack for her #1 skill, which will hit for 2m each. So when you're fighting, you'll want avoid actually shooting enemies so the slugs will air burst and send out those tracking bullets.

Combat loop is simple. Switch to Anvil mode via ADS, toggle her #1 and start shooting above mobs. Use her #3 to reload and/or movement. Use her #2 on bosses to enable Bonding, if needed, and general burst damage. Use her #4 more huge AoE damage. Takes a bit to get used too, there are times when I use her #1 by mistake due to muscle memory so it toggles the skill off, and not shooting at mobs to hit them is odd.

I honestly don't see this lasting. The Dark Current damage is really good, but its not being reduced via enemy Defense, plus using her #1 isn't using enough mana. I think they intended for this to be an ebb and flow type combat loop, where you get high damage via Gun until mana is gone, then go back to Skill damage to allow Dark Current to regen mana. Hopefully all they do is enable Dark Current to be affected by enemy Defense, but not too harshly.

Edit: Also, don't use the Bravery set like she does, unless you're really good at movement tech. You become a true glass cannon. In the above build, I swap out HP Conversion (MP) for Increased HP, and I use 2 piece Circulation / 2 piece Plague. Could also use 4 piece Slayer.

In regards to Freyna and Viessa. No changes to either, my Freyna still does what she does, but she is pretty weak in Bounty missions, but that is more due to the gigantic HP pools for Bounty mobs and the nature of DoT damage.

What build are you using for Viessa? I've only been using the new Glacial Cloud, but Absolute Zero should be as fast as ever.
