Orlando Brick Co

Hourglass Brewery

And umm forgot my friends curated book store lol…but I thought it was oddly close by the Brick co…ill have to recall… but its like you buy a “mystery box” of a book style and type… like “girl action fantasy drama” and you get the book, and a bunch of toys and do-dads that go with it in a cool box and stuff.. its very eclectic , but they have had it open for a year now so, good for them.

Edit- ahh yes Home | Turtle and Bea Book Boutique

But not near the others lol. No idea why i thought they were close.
I've been to Hourglass actually. I'll check out the bookstore and Lego store!

Try to find this one:

Probably even while being out of print it will still only cost 25% of what Lego would charge.
Clearly superior quality, prints and not stickers and an eye for detail.

Took a while because I stopped to build the white Lambo I posted above, this is one of the Lego knockoff brands called Nifeliz, they are on Amazon a lot. It's a 911 but they don't pay Porsche so they cannot call it a 911. Hard to tell from this pic but the wheels are cambered out like those silly cars.

Anyone interested in this?

As a gundam builder, I always thought the star destroyer and millenium falcon legos looked awesome. But this looks like a joke. Even if it was priced at $500.
How popular are chinese knockoffs and original design kits in the lego fandom?

I have a few third party and/or chinese LEGO-like sets at home, mostly for my teenage son and they range from meh to great.

I got him a Warhammer 40K tank with a few UItramarines from a chinese brand, also the Armored Personel Carrier from Aliens for his birthday because he really loved that vehicle in the movie. And a few Gundam-like robots and a Pacific Rim Jaeger too I think some years ago. I got a Titanfall 2 BT for myself some years back and it looks really cool but it doesn't really hold up as far as stability and solidity goes, you can tell it's pretty cheap plastic (though official LEGO also break after a few years, especially the clips on bricks tend to get really brittle).

I also got him some years ago some cheap train sets because the real ones he saw on Youtube were long out of print and/or at prohibitive prices, those were pretty sturdy.

I also got myself last year a 3D map of Hyrule from Link to the Past, around 12" x 12" and all made from bricks, it looks pretty damn cool and was pretty easy to build, but I remember I had some problems in the instructions because they're not as well designed as LEGO stuff and sometimes the colors aren't exactly matching on the instructions and in the actual bricks so you have to figure it out. Again, not a lot of experience for me on completely original designs.

As far as instructions go, some chinese companies have booklets so I recommend keeping those because you may not easily find instructions pdf online if you need to rebuild it, but most these days have a simple piece of cardboard in the package with a QR code you can to get the instructions on your tablet.

There's also some pretty decent third parties that aren't knockoffs but just other brands, and fully compatible with LEGO stuff since that patent became free a few years back. My son likes some military brand (Sluban) that does tanks, planes, rail cannons, aircraft carriers, etc.. it's pretty cool.

I've done both Lego and knock off models, I like the Lego Technic sets but since they are worth so much in the box and get scooped up I don't get as many. Also fuck paying $400 for a model plastic car.
I can say I've had problems with both. I have a lego land rover that was missing a whole door worth of parts. This is a technic so that's a lot of parts. I had to scratch and scrounge to find stuff / and fake my way around it. I bought a LEGO Ford GT40 model that was missing all the stickers (sent off for those though and they did arrive)

I also had a knock off brand whose directions were so bad I just took what I had put together into the garage and smashed it with a hand sledge. Most of the cheaper knockoff's have lesser quality directions so you really have to pay attention.

Can you post the link to the Warhammer and APC?

Here's a link to Aliexpress for the store where I got my son's APC :

For the Warhammer 40K stuff unfortunately, only a few days after I received both the vehicle and the minifigures, I got an e-mail from Aliexpress saying they were sorry about the products I bought because they were unlicensed and would be removed from their store (as if all the other stuff were licensed hah). So I haven't been able to find them again after searching for you today, and the old link in my orders isn't working to find it. I'm seeing some dreadnaughts though, and maybe if you search a bit deeper you can still find some tanks or other vehicles.

EDIT : I took a picture of them so you can see what it looks like.
