There are generic lego sets for like, everything - it is great. The real lego sets if there is a direct option are always better - look at the GameBoy, it is insane vs the generics that have floated around.

My son (5) loves legos and robots...

So, Friday is movie night... and a lego set to go along with it...

Is this your actual set up? That's fucking awesome if it is.
Yep! I love seeing my kids enjoy Legos, even if they mostly want to play with new legos and not what i had as a kid :D

Yep. Got it as a gift when I was 5 years old in 1990.

how was that ISS model to put together? I have the shuttle/hubble one and the stand for the hubble is janky as hell.
It was fine. It was something a colleague purchased for the office to sort of take turns putting together as a mental break. I inherited it when he left. Same with the moon lander which we also attached a LED thing into.

I might just disassemble them both and throw them in the general use piles, I dunno. The kids don't play with either of them.

My one Christmas/birthday gift has been requested.
I doubt I will be willing to spend that much money for a Lego set so I plan to live vicariously through you. Here's to hoping!

I really wish they would do a classics series and re releases these, the mid evil , space, and Western sets.
Yeah, I'd go on a spending spree if they rereleased sets from my childhood that I spent hours looking in magazines at but never got.

Then again I'm pretty sure the sets available now are superior to what they had as a kid.

I've been suddenly really regretting giving up my Lego Voltron set. Didn't have room for it after I had built it and ended up selling it for cheap. Wish I'd kept it. Oh well.
