This post highlights one of the better points: if Helen of Troy has to be cast as a black woman, can’t she at least be, I don’t know, hot?!

I'm no fan of Harvey Weinstein, but at least when he was around, the women in film were attractive.

I was reading an argument that Ellen Page may not be so bad for the role because in the Odyssey Achilles is an emaciated and weak version of his former self which I guess could work considering Ellen Page is most emaciated "man" I can think of.

People are also saying Ellen Page is playing Elpanor.

And movies were better. The guy is a major creep, but he put out solid products, even at studios not under his control.

It's easy to understand. They weren't getting work unless they sucked dick, and who wants their dick sucked by an ugly chick? Thus, hot chicks got jobs.
My logic is sound.

Oh for actual fucks sakes.

No. What compels people to pretend this? Whats the payoff?

Kind of makes sense given that Achilles is dead. He is a ghost. I could thus see him not looking like his formal alive self.

That would probably make the movie way better than has been suggested thus far. An hour expose of why Achilles ghost now looks like a mutoid goblin, then just throw in 30 minutes of the rest of the odyssey

So if Page’s role hasn’t been confirmed yet

has anyone floated the possibility that she’ll portray either

A: the older version of Telemachus

B: the older version of Odysseus himself

I’m just swinging but Jesus I can see either being a possibility

If they wanted that, I am sure McLovin is available.

It is almost like Nolan is trying to tank his own career by cramming in as much DEI ragebait as he possibly can.

Deserves zero stars for his blatant messaging.

Dark Knight Rises is both underrated and overrated
