The Odyssey (2026)

local theater's imax has 3 showing a day, and they are all pretty close to sold out. but the other screens just have a handful sold. the marquee has 2 large mxc screens, only giving one to odyssey and so far only a few to no tickets been sold.

probably will be wrong, but don't think it will hit the projected $100+m opening.

Box Office Theory - $98m to $132m
Boxoffice Pro - $100m to $120m
Deadline - $80m to $100m

worldwide is $200m to $250m
looks like total projections are $350m to 425m domestic with worldwide $700m to $1.1b

I'm right there with you. I grew up watching the old movies like Sinbad, Ulysses, and Jason and the Argonauts as a child. Then I grew up and actually read the classics. None of those movies seemed to overtly attack Race, Sex, etc. There were good guys and bad guys, Good and Evil, simply based on the overall premise of Good and Evil... not some political agenda bullshit. Evil required courage and sacrifice to defeat, heroism and camaraderie won the day. Sure, it was fantasy, but it was exciting, and it made young boy me want to grow up to be a man strong enough to be those guys.

But at the same time, society backed that play. Whether it was sports figures defeating the other guys through sheer will and athleticism, or cops and soldiers taking down the bad guys through badassery, we respected and celebrated it. Today... not so much. Teams win and the "fans" still destroy the city. Cops/Soldiers do their job and society blames them instead of the evil-doers. Intelligence is called "racist" or a waste of time.

It breaks my fucking heart, and I damn sure go out of my way not to financially or socially support the fucks spreading those messages.
