No, Drinker wanted to release a video because early takes on Andor from the usual ragebait suspects online were the typical "Anything Disney is 100% DEI REEEEEEEE" shit so he put out a video shitting on it for being that after a few episodes (to take advantage of the online ragebait trend) rather than let it play out or put any thought into what certain scenes symbolized. Then once internet discourse was like "omg Andor S2 is a masterpiece", he puts out a video aligning with that.

Drinker's and pretty much any politics or culture-war based influencer's main objective isn't to be truly objective, it is to maximize clicks and in turn money going into their pocket.

Holy shit you're fucking retarded. The first few episodes were pretty weak and then very stronger after. That's obvious if you actually watched it. The way you far leftists dipshits go back and forth from "Drinker tells people what he thinks they want to hear" to "His audience blindly believes whatever he tells them" is hilarious, though

Who was the faggot flexing the RT audience score?

View attachment 634650
RT audience score that is displayed on the main page comes from actual ticket buyers. Metacritic does not necessarily.

Cinemascore also comes from actual ticket buyers.

Yeah, ticket buyers are likely self selecting to some degree (so biased towards good scores), but culture war warriors are too (slanted towards negativity).

I'll still take more stock in people who actually watch the thing versus not (not that any random opinion is all that worthwhile).

Even the black guy gets it. Nothing about a woman who cut her tits off sounds like a warrior to me. If they had used Ellen Page in a reimagining of Ephialtes in 300, I would support it 100% but a Greek warrior?!

Page is much closer to an Ephialtes than a warrior in the movie. Sinon is deceived into following Odysseus to war by Antinous, but there is no indication that he did any fighting. He's intentionally framed as small and frail, every other solider looks colossal next to him. Odysseus himself deceives Sinon, literally sending him out to die to help improve their chances of misleading the Trojans into springing the trap, much like Ephialtes - useless as a warrior - falls for the lies of Xerxes and is deployed to hose the Greeks without raising a weapon.

Or maybe that's all a lie, and "Elliot" is shown singlehandedly slaughtering legions of Laestrygonians while gently caressing his 4" clit.

Ok. So...why wear the armor? Why send her to war? Why not change the outfit and maybe make her an archer? How was Achilles killed btw? It's almost like you know nothing about the original work but are bound and determined to defend this slop. BTW, Sinon was a warrior. Five foot tall Ellen Page is not in any way a good example of a warrior. Make her an assistant to Agamemnon. If she only has a few minutes of playtime, no reason to cast a woman. Hell, cast her as Helen if you're going to go that far into ridiculousness. That's the goal, right? Ridiculousness? Why wasn't the Hag, Agamemnon? That face could obviously bring soldiers to flee.

I'm not defending the casting or the costume design, I'm literally responding to your claim that had Page been cast as Ephialtes, you'd "support it 100%", and that's effectively what the character is: seemingly pathetic and worthless as a warrior, but useful as a tool of deception. Why send her to war? I also answered this, Antinous deceived Sinon into going. He was conscripted into the war and convinced Sinon to take his place in exchange for money.

7/10

It was good but not great. If I watch it again it might hit 8/10.

Did you see it?

This is FOH - only feelings and rage

You also know 90% of the people suddenly becoming scholars on the Odyssey are reading shit before posting to refresh their memories (if they even read it). Pretty sure I last read it 30 years ago - all I remember was cyclops, charibdus/scalla, the sirens, circe's island, his dog Argo dying when he got home, and then him going postal on all the suitors at the end

Yeah we really need a refresher on the Odyssey, which every video game and fantasy novel owes allegiance to. It's the genre most of us here have been role playing in for most of our lives. You're such a fucking clown.

I get it and I like how Nolan does his work. Guy's top notch. But does anyone really believe a 5 foot tall... hermaphrodite let's say, is a warrior? No. Sinon was a warrior, and they let Page dress up as one. You also completely ignored my question of why not have her as an archer? The value of the discussion with Ephialtes was that he was unfit, and would always be unfit, for what needed to be done by the warriors in 300. He would have to take other roles. That is in no way what Nolan did. That is in no way what the role was. You ignore that point. He could have adjusted that role like he did many other parts of the story and movie. Make Ellen an archer and spy. That would have been fine. Ellen the Greek warrior is ridiculous.

Of course not, but Sinon is not presented as a "warrior" in the movie. A soldier? Sure...but some soldiers will never make it closer to the front lines than the latrines at HQ, yet they still gear up if they're combat-zone adjacent. And if you had to select one of your crew to die without a fight, the bony midget with a clear dearth of testosterone would seem to be the ideal choice. Just ask Pete Hegseth.

damn, everyone is trying to release a video to get clicks

ever seen them release a day of video

I appreciate their take on making such bold casting choices. Which I think makes the most sense.

It's a statement to say it's Nolan's take on this ancient story. You see my black Helen? My Travis Scott poetry man? Yeah this ain't your grandma's Odyssey

They’re not bold, they’re just pandering to the industry awards institution because that’s still a better bet than bowing to the demands of our currently toothless counter culture.
