Blue hairs are living rent fucking free in your heads
No, you do, just like literally everyone else. Nolan. Nolan's casting director. Everyone else on the set. Every person who encounters her on the street.I don't think she's ugly.

It's kind of weird how defensive you seem to be about the movie. Like people criticizing it is somehow a personal attack on you.Man
My The Odyessy experience is completely destroyed because I saw a frame from a movie that showed a chick I don't like!
Fuuuuuuuuuck
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
Guess I'll just go watch Citizen Vigilante instead and convince myself that Uwe Boll doesn't make trash.
Uwe Boll for Best Picture!!!

From a bunch of people who have not and apparently will not ever see the movie? Yeah let me get on that right away lolI can feel the rageshaking through my monitor. Deep breaths bro.
After the breathing exercises maybe you could try reading and addressing literally anything thats actually been said on the subject
But first, breathe.

I liked it
Didn't love it
7/10

Real talk: The real trick Nolan pull on everyone is that by putting a black chick in as Helen for a couple minutes, you can't even see the actual changes to the story he made that are much more interesting to debate.
But no. Let's analyze the Ooga Booga helen for another ten pages, yo.
Carry on lol

Here's az's thoughts. its long. not brief quick summary. 5/10
paraphrased:
poorly edited. horrible pacing/framing. the time skipping hurt the movie. lots of time spent on unimportant elements, while short time giving to important ones.
poor casting. holland is awful. damon exists. but is no Odysseus. Hathaway and pattinson overact a bit. obvious race swapping. teenage sinon is more masculine then adult Sinon. leguizamo is the best performance.
horrible costuming.
constantly taken out of it by the modern speech.
poor marketing with the helen being in it for 2 minutes, Clytemnestra for like 3. Ellen page for like 3 herself.. helen and Clytemnestra being twins was really stupid. Helen is a daughter of Zeus.
"verisimilitude"
---
the pacing and story telling seems obvious. the idea was to do the "complicated man" revision. downplay heroics, and focus on regrets, and mistakes.
What was the point of making this movie? Ralph Fiennes did a fantastic job in The Return, and that was only two years ago. No DEI choices in there at all, that I can remember.
That was a choice he made, and put in the movie.
Someone made a good analogy. "ohh, that a10 warthog was only in the lord of the rings for 5 minutes, you can't even see the actual changes to the story he made that are much more interesting to debate."
So, are you going to defend the the sisters being twins? Helen's scar?
we don't need an exhaustive laundry list of stupid changes. when we can just focus on the obvious. the one that really tells on creative discission making mindset.
