So much for crashing the second weekend. I bet the actuals on Monday go even higher.

Still no Japan, South Korea, or China opening. I never would have thought it had a chance at passing Deadpool 3 globally but that looks increasingly likely. Probably has a shot at surpassing TDK domestically.

All depends on how much air Brand New Day sucks out of the room. There's hardly anything else out there so there is probably enough room for two blockbusters.

Box Office Theory has it at 1.4-1.5B when the run is done(highest grossing rated R release surpassing Deadpool and Wolverine), and will be 235m higher then Oppenheimer after weekend 2. It will be 83m higher after weekend 2 then Maverick (PG-13) which went on to 1.5B WW, Spiderman will put a dent into surpassing that.

It's been reported at $125 but I really don't know how accurate that is (for any movie, really). I feel like a lot of times marketing is just a guess number that gets reported.

They also have all the actors just full on promotion mode. More than usual. Those contracts must have some serious marketing clauses.

To think that "marketing" is not out there buying up tickets and theaters for this thing, you are delusional - and it has been done before.

Even if they spent 100 million doing that (they didn't, that would literally be insane behavior that would cost them way more in the long run) this movie is on track to make wayyyyy more.

BTW the "movies" you heard about doing that are all Angel Studios who have churches buy up tickets for their parishioners whether they go or not. They get a 50% discount for doing so. Young Washington was the latest. Look up their "pay it forward" thing.

Christians built the society you now enjoy shitting on them in. But good luck with your future though. I hear lots of street shitters and muzzies now in your country. things can only get better without those nasty christians, right?

Christians didn't build jack shit. They collapsed civilisation when the child-fucking-priest religion took hold back in ancient rome and civilization only somewhat recovered when people starting throwing out Christian bullshit in the Rennaissance.

Imagine being that ignorant about the culture you grew up in, and then logging onto the internet to brag about your ignorance.

It was that horrible Jim Caviezel movie

Sound of Freedom. Even then only 1/10th of its return was achieved that way and it had an active public campaign to do so (20ISH mill). Even then they were still paying the theater their cut then writing off their portions as religious charitable donations.
