why would anyone be proud and happy when a bad movie does well? such a bizarre take. how many defenders for Transformers are there out there? people that try to defend that can probably at least justify the value of dumb popcorn movies, and Bay's ability to capitalize on that.

I can only assume they also cheer for shitty healthcare captured by insurance companies, it also makes a ton of money so obviously it’s good. Fentanyl, meth, crack, and heroin also make a shit ton of money, they’re the best things on the planet!

I enjoyed him in the Jason Bourne movies, as well as The Martian & Good Will Hunting. But I agree. He is very much just "Matt Damon!" every time you see his face.

amc citywalk (one of the largest 70mm imax screens) is taking down the odyssey promo stuff although i think the movie is still playing there in 70mm imax for a while



wonder what movie will move 70mm imax screens to a new movie

Are there any other big Blockbusters that are supposed to be coming out this summer or is that pretty much done? I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

Odyssey is booked on 70mm till September 16th. After that it doesn't have specific bookings so Science Center ones like the one in Ft. Lauderdale at AutoNation will go back to Nat Geo stuff etc, while ones at traditional movie theaters will play whatever LieMax is doing. The next actual booking for 70mm is Dune 3

i recently signed up for fandango fan club ($50 for 4-5 months, one free ticket a month) and my reasoning was the following fall movies most of which i'll prob wanna see in theaters

digger (tom cruise)
whalefall
street fighter
godzilla minus zero
behemoth (tony gilroy of andor)
doomsday
dune 3

last few in dec and i don't think any of these are 70mm IMAX filmed anyways so oppenheimer could be like 50% of 70mm imax for the rest of the year until dune 3.

VOD/torrents date now set for Nov 17th

I think the only movie that I would maybe want to see in IMAX out of that whole list is Whalefall, and that's because I want the most immersive experience of hand-to-hand squid fighting humanly possible to my oculary senses.

Everything else can eat a dick, and if it was a whale dick, I think it's actually called a dork.

So much of the movie hyped up all these scenes and all were rushed, the giant scene that they kept showing was over so quick. You never care about anyone dying or really anyone in the movie.

Also you guys talk about why we liked Matt damon and none of you bring up Dogma?

Saying this is a BAD movie just shows off some odd taste in this thread. It's a good movie. Imo not great, and not even top five Nolan in my books. Just good-to-pretty-good.

But let's be real. Round these here parts it's not about the story or the filming or the acting. You know... The things that make a movie good or bad.

It's that other thing.

The smell of the movie.

If I'm struggling to make it through a movie I'm going to call it a bad movie. If I watched it at home I would just have turned it off and put on something else

I said this like 20 pages ago. "What, is this movie gonna become good despite the casting because the camera guy held the camera just right, or the actor did just the right things with his face?"

Its like somebody puts a plate full of shit in front of you and you're all upset nobody appreciates how well its plated, or the restaurant ambience - you know, the things that make a meal good or bad.

That thing doesnt bother you. And you make sure to proclaim this at every opportunity, and then criticize everyone else for being bothered by that thing.

Its become more or less your identity on the subject of anything movies or TV, as far as I can tell. You do you, and everything, but its not really the kind of elite big brain position you appear to think it is.
