Book was actually excellent but there is no way in hell they do the ending as remotely close to written as I would like, because current year. Edgar Wright can do no wrong in my eyes, so gonna roll the dice on this one.

supposed to be more true to the book than the Arnold movie. i don't really watch trailers (spoil too much nowadays) so hope this is good

Man they so obviously wanted Steve Harvey, i wonder if they even asked. Also apparently the hunter in the green mask is Lee Pace, thats fun, but yea meh.

Looks like they are going the book route mostly, but with heavy “gameshow” elements of the 80s flick thrown in

I could swear that there was another movie I have seen that was very similar to this. I can not remember it though.

Yeah, that sounds familiar to me, too. I think it was this film.

Book route for the story but with a tone entirely different. I don't think we're going to have our hero's wife get murdered trying to hook for money to buy (fake) medicine for their sick child that also dies to then close the movie out with the dude showing off his world class impression of a 9/11 hijacker.

even looking at this list its missing a bunch.
or the variants like Death race 2000.
(I see "the running man" is not listed as a movie, but only as a book adaptation. )

Timberlake movie was "in time", which was more of a heist/chase movie. then death game.
He was being hunted by a cop, because he stole something valuable or specifically was given something stolen, not for sport or entertainment.

Weird choice of music, the trailer gives a vibe for a different genre than what we are seeing scenes for. Leaves me with the impression of those late 90s / 2000s films where marketing had no idea how to present the movie and it pathed completely separate from the promotional material.
