Not really shit I bought but shit bought for me. A Hoto Pixeldrive 4V screwdriver. It's all machined metal and a pretty slick bit of kit. Saw it on sale and sent it to my wife to get it me for Xmas since I'm so damn hard to buy for, a.k.a. I already have what I want or it's too damn expensive!

That’s pretty nice. I’ve been using this for 2 years I guess based on last purchase date. I like it but torque isn’t that great, otherwise no complaints.

Well I have a heavy hand so a lot of torque isn't necessarily a bad thing. Really like the digital readout in inch pounds.

My british FIL one time borrowed my torque wrench to work on his car and didn't realize there was even such a thing as inch pounds.....until he cracked his valve cover 😳

Just a had thought this morning I’ve been using this little waffle / pancake guynearly daily for almost two years and it has held up perfectly. Just do a quick wipe with a paper towel when done, maybe once a month use a porker soap and water. Best $10 I’ve spent in forever.

A couple other retro pickups. No cables for the famicom yet. Came with half of the disk system so that black part is kind of pointless right now.

Nights is one of my favorite games of all time and needed it CIB so there we are.

I had to really look at those pictures. The way they are presented made me think they were miniatures that went into a doll house.

Oh? I posted them from my phone and resized them. Maybe I messed that up, haven’t checked from desktop with all the family in town for holidays. Lol maybe the phone was in portrait mode, they look super bokeh.

Just got my wife a cat. Our last one died Christmas 2024. Got a cute Tortie. She's pretty skittish so far but is very affectionate and sweet.

Turns out the Virtual Boy I bought had a malfunctioning lens. Read up and it's a common problem as it uses a ribbon cable with glue and eventually comes undone after time. It can be soldered back on but I honestly have never soldered anything before so I returned it and more-or-less exchanged it for this.

This was my childhood dream console when I was a kid; the one I would always jokingly ask for from my parents for Christmas or my birthday. Had to wait till 40 to finally get one.

Not gonna lie I'm kind of jealous. Always wanted one of those too!

I need to find your game shop! (actually, I really don't)

Speaking of shit I bought, you may already be aware, but these things are fucking crack magic for cats.
These were literally the only things that could lure one of our rescue cats out from hiding, and after a couple of weeks of nightly churus, she was standing in my wife's lap for them (after basically hiding under stuff 24/7 for like 2 years).

I occasionally check out retro stores if I'm near one and have never seen a Neo-Geo, let alone a Virtual Boy, in the wild, so it seemed like pure luck at this particular place

They also had a Turbo Duo, 3do, and Genesis/Sega CD combo that I was tempted to do as it is much easier to collect for given how expensive AES cartridges are. But, given that Neo Geo was my white whale, figured it was time to pull the trigger.

FWIW the genesis/Sega CD/and I think 32X doodad is what made me stop buying consoles. I got tired of being let down. I also wanted a Neo Geo and that is very cool.

Yeah, there was plenty of shit on CD and 32x. I had a Genesis as a kid but sold it decades ago and would like to build that collection up again at some point. CD would just be a fun curiosity to have and maybe somewhere down the line get some of the actual legitimately good games like Shining Force CD.

I've basically stopped modern gaming and have almost exclusively been doing retro stuff so for the most part, this is just collecting for the fun of it and sharing it with my kids when they are old enough to appreciate it.
