Lith: "You're right, Tanoomba, I wasn't actually addressing anything being said. I'm gonna be a dick about it anyway."

At least we're on the same page now.

Heh. Read the last few posts and see who was giving off "mad" vibes. (Hint: It wasn't me.)

Oh, no I was annoyed at how dumb you were being before...but that last reply just illustrated you made a genuine mistake and were angry about being caught in it. So I'm quite pleased now. Carry on trying to troll

I made no mistake. I was never close to angry. Your snark is misplaced.

Does it really, Cad? Please, enlighten me: What do you think you know about me because I live in Quebec?

Palum: "Had another two dumb interactions today at work that just underline my hatred of constant offense hypocritical SJW land. There's this pervasive "I have to complain about everything" thing going on right now with race/religion/stereotyping at work the past few weeks."

Claims hatred of "constant offense", posts on board composed almost exclusively hypocritical constant offense.
Can't explain that.

Big Phoenix: "Test questions that are really just there to see if you ready the book, that shit is fucking jimmy rustling."

Are you kidding? That stuff is GOLD. You're giving me free correct answers just for reading? You'd better believe I'll take 'em! It's a bonus level IRL.

Phazael: "It takes someone almost as little time to recognize your posting "style" as it does a Tanoomba alt, at least when someone is looking for it."

Again, those weren't my alts. You're not as clever as you seem to think you are.

Settle an argument:

Let's say you hold one end of a long, transparent tube on one side of a room and the other end on the other side of the room. Fill the tube with water (not all the way). If you hold a string taut from the water level at one end to the water level at the other end, will the line created be a guaranteed level?

Are people still butthurt about the confederate flag?

A racist symbol is no longer displayed at government buildings and a few big companies decided to pull products featuring the symbol from their shelves in a (perhaps misguided) effort to coddle their customers. That's it. NOTHING was banned. There's no thought policing here. This isn't about censorship. This isn't about controlling how people can express themselves. Get over it.

But then again, when all you've got is a hammer...

Finally dude. It's like it is impossible for you to say anything I agree with. But you just did. Thank you. It was always about the confederate flag being taken down from apublicbuilding and never about it being actually banned or censored in daily life or commerce. The only actual censors so far have been private ones, not public ones.

Privately we can all do as we please so long as it hurts no one. That means that you can still wear Rebel Flag T-shirts and have a Rebel Flag man-cave and have a Rebel Flag on the roof of your car (yes even on TV) but it also means that Walmart can choose to stop selling those shirts and CBS can stop airing that show and 'whatever-channel' can stop airing that show that depicts the Rebel Flag if they so choose because they are, technically, private entities.

------

Anyway, my girlfriend is a huge fan of Anthony Bourdain. She Netflixes and On-Demands and You Tubes and Tivos everything the dude does.

So today we are relaxing and flipping through her saved list of his recent shows and she is trying to sell me on staying and watching it all with her on the couch. She tries to sell me on the Canada show and the Beruit show and the Hawaii show. Then she comes across the Quebec show.

The Quebec show....given by that paragon of liberal Americans, Anthony Bourdain, is still too liberal for her. She warns me against it and suggests we watch the Beirut and Hawaii shows instead.

I really got into him over the last few years. With his move to CNN it really moved to a more political slant. The No reservations stuff is great, especially when he goes to Southeast Asia/ Vietnam. Also when he hates a place its entertaining as hell. If you want scenery porn check out the Sardinia/Italy stuff. If you want to watch someone get more and more shitfaced on camera there is one where he is in Tijuana. The show is great because he has a unique voice and its never dull if you like to travel. The Layover is kinda meh.

Fana: "this actually crosses over with this "feminization" process that's trying to stick it's finger in everything, to get such mass change in opinion I would point to colleges started training more and more "gender studies" and such, then the culture changes happen more, sure there's an elite debate first but for the masses change usually comes after institutional change."

But wait: Are people becoming "feminized" because of colleges offering more gender studies courses, or are colleges offering more gender studies courses because they are providing for a demand which has increased as a result of changing culture?

Lith: "Fucking unreal this kind of mentality is still pervasive in today's society."
