How do you know Stewarts work doesn't lead to harassment Tan? I offered MORE evidence than you did about TF supporting that correlation. I showed you a News report from Palin's security team, during the blood libel back lash, where they stated harassment had increased, in addition, if you dig, the FBI made the same statement. You can also check out the Daily show in 2010 if you feel up to it and fine plenty of Stewart videos on it. So we have Stewart making videos mocking Palin (Which is was vicious about) and then Palin getting a measurable increase in threats.

YOU though, have nothing--you CLAIM Sarkesian gets more threats, but Sark doesn't have a security team (She gets bodyguards are certain venues). The only comment the FBI ever made was that a threat had nothing to do with TF, or anyone, and wasn't credible; they never commented on any increase in threats. You literally just claimed her threats increased when TF posts a video, with no evidence that such a thing even happens. But lets say it does happen (Lets be generous), then guess what? Your evidence is EXACTLY the same as mine. EXACTLY. We are both offering a media personality, lampooning someone who is being critical of something else (Sark video games and now even politics, and Palin on Politics.) and then a claim that harassment rises during that time.

That is all you have--that is the basis of your conjecture. So you tell me what context I'm missing. What evidence of this causation do you have? Tweets with TFs name? You realize the Daily show made numerous hash tags over the blood libel stuff. So what do you have, Tan? That's right, you don't have anything that differentiates them; Thudnerfoot is a well known satirists with a large audience, as is Stewart, they both poke fun at women engaged in politics, and women who lead very public lives. Both of them happened to poke fun at these women during times when twitter was "harassing them", neither guy ordered or requested this.

By any definition of harassment that would require legal action against Thunderfoot, it would most surely fit stuff like the Daily Show. You must see this, surely? You can't just handwave it away by saying one is a satirist. Would you want a world where someone's free speech was dependent on whether he counted under some definition of a comedian?

Thunderfoot has never, not even once, advocated any sort of violence that I have seen. Until you have some of that, shut the fuck up.

Tanoomba, do you really believe the world would be a better place if Anita was able to shut down Thunderfoot's video? Mind you, to do that you would have to create a legal framework such that it couldn't be "abused" by bad people like Sarah Palin.

I really don't get what kind of legal framework Tanoomba wants to live under. Does he really want to ban things like the Daily Show and Charlie Hebdo? That would be the effect of any legislation that would target someone like Thunderfoot. Or does he think that the only people that should be allowed satire are people that do it fulltime? Do people need to become "registered" satirists before they are allowed to criticize people he likes?
