Oh and the conversation we had with Tanoomba on the nature of Poe's law in the butthurt white guys thread, which my signature links to the end of that conversation, is a great example of how Tanoomba will take a stupid position, double and then triple and then quadruple down on it, then pretend to come back to the middle and see the other (correct) side out of one side of his mouth, while still insulting and condescending towards the poster in his passive aggressive shitposting way at the same time.

His shit posting isn't like just a one note one line shit post. He will sit and redefine a word like "encouraged" into an extremely narrow way and then defend that completely false definition for, not a page or two, or a day or two, but weeks, months, and even years if he has to.

He is irrational and incorrigible in the extreme. Completely unreachable.

He's like a verbose, passive aggressive TJ Lazer in a way.

To be honest, the only reason I ever went into the GG thread to begin with was when posts were being reported en masse and I was forced to read some of them. I'm not sure I would have ever gone into that thread willingly, and now I just go for the LOLs.

Plus, I think a lot of the Mods who have zero interest in GG probably looked at Tanoomba's reported posts, went "ehhh...I ain't gonna do shit about someone arguing on the Internet, that's some weak-ass shit" and went back to fapping/gaming/making wooden car bumpers.

For one thing, the fact that roads would be generating solar energy is hardly the only selling point for this product.
Wanna talk about maintenance? Which is harder/more expensive: Paying a large group of people running heavy equipment to tear up and re-pave a damaged area over several days, or popping out a damaged panel and replacing it with a mass-produced one?
Which is harder/more expensive: Re-painting bike lanes and lane dividers as they change with the seasons or changing the code that says what lines to display on the road?
Which is harder/more expensive: Paying hundreds of trucks to remove snow and carry it away to another area every time there's a heavy fall, or having the snow melt instantly as it hits the road (that may not mean much to those of you who don't get snow, but it's a HUGE benefit for those who do).
Which is harder/more expensive: Maintaining aging wooden poles holding up power lines and losing power whenever lines are broken, or having said power lines run under the street where they are both less of a visual nuisance and less likely to suffer damage from the elements?

Every single one of these points are perfect examples of why solar roadways are completely impractical, but he lists them as points in his defense.

However, that is just him being utterly stupid.

I think that the ignore feature should also ignore posts that quote the ignored person, and it would solve the vast majority of issues on this and every other forum. Can't be much harder than "If SubjectLine = string(*"Tanoomba"*) print "This poster is being ignored"" or something, because I can't code. If people are shitty about it after the fact, just ignore that shit-poster as well.

Wouldn't even need the asshat of the year polls if that type of feature was enabled =|
