Well, Lithose didn't respond to my request for a link so I had to find it myself.

I laughed at his over-the top statement that "objectivity is a tool of the evil white male". It was an exaggerated distortion of reality meant to ridicule a group, as many of Lithose's statements are.

He responded by linking to a book that I guess I'm just supposed to assume contains that sentiment and an example of "feminist logic" that he didn't attribute to anyone. Did he quote a passage from the book? No. Did he quote an actual feminist? No. He also accused me of being an ideologue and defending... something. He didn't say what it was I was "defending" (most likely because I wasn't actually defending anything).

This is textbook misrepresentation, intended to portray a perceived opponent in the most ridiculous light possible while simultaneously dismissing anything actually being said. There is nothing in the page he linked that says anything about white males being evil. That was hyperbole added by Lithose. He doesn't understand that he can't make valid points as long as he keeps distorting information to suit his narrative. Or, conversely, he does understand but doesn't care, since fueling a narrative means more to him than discussing anything in good faith.

As you can see, I very, VERY clearly made my point here: That Lithose's penchant for exaggeration poisons whatever point he's trying to make. Instead of just admitting he exaggerated, re responded with a word salad where he attempted to justify his exaggeration through ridiculous mental gymnastics while repeatedly accusing me of being an ideologue (despite my posts containing nothing ideological whatsoever).

Recap:

• Lith made a silly exaggeration.
• I called him on it.
• Lith shifted goalposts and made claims he refused to back up (that I am an ideologue and that I was defending feminism, both of which were false).
• Lith waited six months and drew attention to this past discussion with AN OUTRIGHT LIE (that I argued "no feminists actually said this about objective truth", which was never my claim at all).

Here's a fun game: Try to find ONE argument I've had with Lithose where he doesn't end up misrepresenting my stance in order to try pull a "win" out of it... Just ONE! Bet you can't.

There go those mental gymnastics again.

Fanaskin's solution worked OK for text-based threads, but in the end I went back to using Hola, which was actually suggested to me by Mire (although I think someone else mentioned IP-spoofing software too).

Are you suggesting I wasn't appreciative enough when I explicitly thanked everyone who made an effort to find a solution, including Fanaskin?
