I would only want this made if the alien gets out into the civilized world and kills/assimilated everyone.
Plot twist. It already has but was caught during a nearly completed assimilation. Instead of hiding its half breed form, it simply plays itself off as it is and the transgender movement was formed.

Oh hey, look what I bought. The expanded version of the original novella that The Thing was based on. This is well-worth your time, unlike the game and the comics (and probably the upcoming movie)

Yeah, it was actually a pretty fun game on the PlayStation 2. I thought it did at least an interesting job with continuing the story.
I believe they have remastered it and released it on today's consoles.

I don't have a console any longer, maybe a PS3 somewhere out in the garage, I don't even remember. I do just remember renting it from Blockbuster and playing it over a weekend.

Thing comics are fine if someone needs more of that in their life.

edit - I haven't gotten to Frozen Hell yet but Who Goes There was solid.

There's also that short story written from the perspective of the alien, can't remember the name of the author, but it's called Things I believe. It's pretty good and I guess it's like a John Gardner's Grendel type deal.
