Their failure in a vacuum would be one thing, but Witcher 3 literally gave them a blue print on how to write and cast a successful show. All they had to do was literally copy and paste it into live action and they couldn't even do that.

not sure that is necessarily true, netflix has the license to the books from Sapkowski not the video games(CDPR owns those)

How many people actually read the books vs played the game though? It's not like he has the clout of someone like GRR Martin or the Harry Potter lady.
