Hyperloop is dumb as fuck because tunnels are expensive and planes are cheap. Another problem is crashing.. going fast and crashing are big problems. Turns too, turning at high speeds is very dangerous because there are lots of g forces. Bullet trains have have also had problems, like crashing and being expensive.
Distances are another problem, distances are far in the United States whereas in other places they are not as far. This adds to the difficulties because going far is harder than going short.
All of these problems combined mean that we should not simultaneously build a complete network of hyperloop tunnels connecting every community in the US. I think cars are good for distances up until planes are better and that covers all travel needs.
