Going to be in and around Birmingham/Tuscaloosa next week for a few days - anyone from around here have any food recommendations? BBQ? I assume everything in the area centers around the university but curious if there were any good off the beaten path food stops

Most of my family went to college there and swear by Archibald's BBQ which I hear mentioned by a lot of people in this state but I found it underwhelming the one time I tried it. I was a hipster and went to AU so don't have any firsthand info for you, sorry. IIRC we have a few bammers on the forums but it's probably 50/50 they actually ever went to school in Tuscaloosa and could give you some recs, I'd look in the CFB thread if you don't get a lot of bites here.

Here now, great town and a feck ton of hot broads. Dreamland bbq is great, will look for archibalds soon. Surprised how nice it is actually, not sure what I was expecting but the trees and river are great
