The hilarious part is that the Twitch CEO had just went on some woke vtubers stream and said that smaller streamers should look for sponsorships, etc in order to justify his 50/50 split or some shit and then IMMEDIATELY after they tried to fuck over sponsorships. Definitely some suits that have no fucking idea what they are doing.

I wanna say someone either linked me a site or I found a site that is 18+ and gaming. It was an...interesting...place.

Chicks playing League or Diablo while riding dildos. Unfortunately most of the "girls" were c or d tier, but entertaining none the less.

I find myself like never watching Twitch anymore, and I used to watch a lot. Some of that is just time, I don't have much free time anymore. But a lot of it is the constant ads. I can't be fucked to deal with them, so I just turn it off.

Why? It is abundantly clear that monopolizing the entire screen to the detriment of the specific product in question leads to the worst possible outcome for almost everyone involved. Viewers hate it. Streamers hate it. The only people who like it are the shortsighted executives at both Twitch and their ad partners and only because they refuse to innovate at all. Hilariously, streamers and their ad partners came up with better streaming advertisement options completely independently and were so effective that these new rules are aimed squarely at eliminating them. Instead of understanding WHY this was the case and capitalizing on it (Twitch can provide streamers pre-defined overlays with ads that run continuously from Twitch ad partners and the streamers get a cut of the ad revenue) they ratcheted down the screws on the better way in favor of the their antiquated, outmatched, and maligned system.

Twitch is fucking dead. No one likes watching streams with forced ads that appear randomly and impact the gameplay viewing experience, so they were already on the downturn, but hopefully these new rules nail the coffin shut much faster so we can move past their rampant, incurable stupidity and on to the next thing.

When I bitch about it people always say don't sub just get Turbo! It's only 2.5 subs and the streamer keeps the ad money and Turbo removes all ads.
Then I realize I only watch 2 people anymore and use a prime sub on one and say nah. Sucks to be streamers.

As for noise, Twatch glitched out few weeks back on a streamer I watch fishing in AUS at like 3am my time and it started playing ads. It was like 500% the volume of the streamer and had phones ringing and doorbells going off. Nearly broke my neck going for the remote.

I barely watch Twitch anymore. I give my Prime to Penta, mainly because he is the only one I check out on Twitch anymore.

There are working adblockers for Twitch still. I don't watch a lot either though due to time, interest and because I usually just watch clips on Youtube of the stuff I would watch.

Its sad that streamers have to resort to 3rd party pilfering for money to begin with. There is no fucking way twitch needs to collect 50% or more of their revenue to keep the fucking lights on over at twitch. Something is fucking wrong with the business model there if they need 50%-70% of streamer revenue to keep shit going along with running the shitty obtrusive ads every hour that makes people cringe and leave.

See Twitter. Get rid of all the woke police/agenda pushers, keep the workers who make the site work, get a ceo who knows streaming and make it the best site for that. Remove the greed, incompetence and political machinations and you can have a successful company. That's a lot to ask from big tech these days though.

Twitch is probably losing money on over 90% of streams because they need like hundreds of viewers to break even and the average view count is probably more like 7 people. They lost a big chunk of revenue when russia got sanctioned, and they probably lost total numbers that covid lockdowns had been inflating.

Actually rewarding streamers for putting up big numbers and bringing in a crowd seems toxic to their woke employees though. I suspect they see their total viewership as semi static and the streamers are just options that they choose from, so a huge streamer is just hogging people. Always seemed to get that impression from them and don't understand it. I think they're just too socialist or something to accept that perpetually low viewer counts mean a stream probably isn't interesting.
