Games were, historically, pitched to kids. The site

Are you elderly or an Australian politician? Video/PC games aren’t just “for kids” and haven’t been for a very long time. Some are, just like some movies or tv shows or books are. But the majority of the modern games market (and prime demographic for advertisers) are that 20s to early 30s age grouping. That shift started with the first PlayStation and has only solidified as time has gone on

Why are you both using the "Kids can already see porn" as a foundation?

Twitch was historically about games and video-game personalities. Games were, historically, pitched to kids. The site hasn't re-branded itself, it is still a site based around games but now with a million sub-categories.

SO...it's a website aimed at kids that now allows nudity. I mean we all knew it was on the moral decline since titty streamers and hot-tub streams, but this is pretty bold of them. You don't even need to sign in to see titties so the "clicked over 18" argument is also moot.

If it was anyone else, they would be canceled by advertisers. It'll be entertaining to watch how this plays out...

"ART"

I clicked on that link and one of the streams with the most viewers was some freak playing anime porn of what looked like a child blowing someone while peeing herself.

This is fucked. I don't see how this doesn't change. I'll never look at that category again but the fact that this is currently being accepted is a horror show.

I’m confident there will be bans and/or amendments in the next few weeks. Everyone is going nuts like someone that turns 21 and drinks themselves into a proverbial coma because they can legally drink now. Once the novelty wears off, you won’t see as much as you do now. And they will refine loopholes as needed.

If Instagram said “you can show full tits now”, your feed would probably be full of bare tits until people got that out of their system.

Twitter never never went back on it. I doubt Twitch will either.

Twitter still shadowbans many mature content accounts

I’ve even seen some “red pilled” porn stars complain that even under Musk they are still being shadowbanned

interneting

either way, falling for the sensationalism that people are tacking onto at the moment to expecting it to be the norm; looks like a massive ban culling just struck through to, more than likely every person that tried to capitalize on the "meme". It's not nearly as bad as it was last night, and less so than this morning. I feel like 95% of the people here probably didn't even know the art category existed.

It's not only anime boobies. Twerking, pole dancing and more is now approved on Twitch in addition content focusing on breasts, butts and pelvic regions are now allowed with a mature 18+ tag. The whole site is about to take a shit as people pile in for the soft core porn shit and the poor gamers loses half their viewers because the average stream watcher only follows the numbers. Give it 3 days and the site will be an impressive shithole compared to the shithole it was.

As to Xevy, people here tolerate prerolls?
I was under the impression this was a preroll/ad free community on Twitch.

Pole dancing was already happening, as it's a "sport" or "workout" or w/e.. all of it was allowed on Twitch, outside of twerking? I don't recall seeing much twerking.. all the strange yoga, asmr licking, hottub, and topless meta's are all getting shoveled under the 18+ banner.. it's pretty much Twitch being tired of everyone trying to skate the ToS to find new meta's to exploit. The solution was to stop playing ban ball with these people, while still profiting off their exploits because clearly there is a demand for @work softcore.. forcing them off the front page, and requiring them to adhere to much simpler rules.. Is it at all sexual, 18+.. is it actual sex/porn, ban.

The art stuff is a little bit trickier to navigate, thus why it's seeing the more dramatic explosion. One doesn't simply go into a figure drawing session to jerk it to the models.. but there are stark differences when something is nude, and when it is sexual.. and I don't know if twitch wants to put the man hours to comb that, but we will see.. it seems that is the goal for the most part. 19th century impressionists were putting nude prostitute paintings up in a gallery causing all kinds of outcries.

They aren’t the same audience. That’s like saying people who like eating at an Italian restaurant are going to now eat at the strip club instead.

Doesn't matter. Do you know why waste of air like QxC or whatever his name is has so many viewers? It's because once a streamer starts landing 10k+ a solid portion join that stream because it is where the cool kids are and more people means something interesting to much of the drone viewership.
This will and already did hurt gaming streams but now it is on steroids.
What's funny is that these new standards excel past Kick in that many of the things were "banned" but not really enforced due to not internal monitors but the advisory and requirements put out by Apple and Google to have an app on the appstore.
If they let up for Twitch and unblurred the lines, then that means it has been approved by Apple/Google and unblurs it not only for Kick but many soon to come degenerate apps. Why did Apple and Google clear those lanes? My guess would be the recent Facebook leaks involving such content to protect them.

Make no mistake, this wasn't just Twitch saying ok we'll allow this and that. This was connected to all the major players in the social game. They wouldn't risk the app strikes unless they were involved. Google/Facebook/Microsoft and used to be Twitter and more are all connected to such choices.
Not sure what the MS/Google cut is but every person who uses Apple to sub using apple Twitch app, Apple gets like 2 bucks in app store fees for every sub.
